Trump wasn't in office until the 20th day of January.

Powell signaled yesterday that inflation was still firmly in place.  He's signaled for over a year that it was still a big deal, and #blueanon gaslighted the ever living crap out of that reality . . . to try and win an election.

yup.  just sucks the new guy failed.

I think we need to give Trump a couple more months to solve inflation, even though he has said that he would have solved it immediately.  Let us extend some grace, because we know that he would do the same for us (wink, wink, nudge nudge).

In fact, I’m going to give him until end of the second quarter. That should be more than enough buffer.

We should be able to refinance our homes by end of the summer, right?

Listened to an clip of a farmer saying he has an $80,000 loan that is not going to be paid thanks to President Elon. Of course, he could never say a bad word about him or Trump, just that it was the government's fault. I feel confident that if Biden or Harris were president, he would have called them by name.

What you're deflecting away from . . . as always. Is that the previous administration tried to get re-elected on the "inflation doesn't exist" platform. When our FR constantly signaled by their actions that it was indeed very very real, and a very real problem.

Very similar to "Joe Biden is as sharp as a tack" gaslighting.

Again . . . there's no other markets for sorghum, just USAID??

Doesn't sound like a very good business plan.

Per our own USDA - there are copious markets for sorghum beyond  a single entity of the United States Government.

dax i'm very bad at the basic principles of econ, when the (non-federal) market is suddenly flooded with an influx of product...price go up, yes?

Sure - but again, the primary question is, why are these people growing crops for the sole purpose of selling them to one US agency?

That doesn't sound like a very good business practice to me.

I'm also fascinated by the concept of Government contracts not being cancel-able, when did that mandate come down?

I'm also reminded that I am talking to people who don't believe the Chief Executive of our nation is allowed to restructure the executive branch and it's various sub-agencies.

It’s very common for the customer in a giant contract to be able to cancel the contract. In the case of the federal government buying stuff from someone, it would seem that the federal government is the customer. shame on the vendor if they did not negotiate for favorable terms in the event of a canceled contract.

Still, there should be more outrage from everyone, both Republican and Democrat that this doge effort isn’t first starting with defense industry.

The backlash would be off the charts.

I've also posted on this blog, links to another blog where the guy tracks the insanity of NASA and their various failed programs and massive cost overruns.

The one story about refreshing rocket engines we've already paid for, for something like 4x the original cost, is just disgusting.

It really is absurd they did not start with the defense industry. There is a real opportunity to shift the trajectory of the government's long-term debt by cutting defense spending.

The line item veto would go a long way towards that as well.  That way congress cannot continue pet defense projects in their district the Pentagon doesn't want.

But the entire DOD procurement process is insane.  Thankfully we've got some smaller players now entering the fold that may help streamline and get the usual suspects off the trough.  The challenge there is, things like Ukraine have given defense contractors piles of money for acquisition . . . as I've discussed in other threads.

Speaking of being soft and weak. How soft, weak and mush brained do you have to be to believe and then parrot the massive gaslighting of the previous regime?

That's pinnacle soft and weak . . . and easily manipulated.

Sad

I don't think they know that fact, that's why they are going after the very poor get disability checks from a paid system for the past 80 years.  SAD
