The Canadian cities would take 20 minutes to capture.

We’d never be able to tame the rural areas of Canada. Their resistance would be fierce. Too costly.

Attacking Canada would put us against all of NATO, assuming that it wouldn't cause NATO to fall apart altogether.

I believe General Eisenhower said that the Canadian soldiers were the toughest Allied soldiers, pound-for-pound. Afraid they might defeat our woke military.

Pffft, rural areas want to flock to us so bad. Pure little bro syndrome and want to be made to feel relevant. Rural Canada is basically the US except completely made irrelevant by Vancouver-Toronto-Montreal. Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta would join the US if given a chance.

Conquering them if NATO wasn't a thing would mean it would be over in like a week, especially if you gave them incentives like each province is treated like and admitted as a state. Only Quebec and like half of Ontario would put up any serious fight. Vancouver would like to but they are basically Seattle and would go along with it.

I hate trump but that remark he made, especially to Trudeau, will play very well to like 40% of the country. They are in serious BID mode in rural areas and I think willing to throw enough around if it meant they were on our side of the fence.

Many are scared shitless rn cause of his exact comments. Basically if we tariff them we'll ruin their economy, and that isn't an exaggeration.

all we would have to do is offer them the American Dream of overcoming their issues with hard work and determinism.  It's obvious that Canadian HW&D doesn't work, so there will be a scramble to trade that in for American HW&D.

Mexico windmilling trunk 24/7 is so underrated
Pfffft

Mexico:  We hope it doesn't happen, but we have a plan if it does....

Also Mexico:  how’s the wall we were going to pay for coming along fatso?

4 more years to find out!

care to make a friendly wager?

Wait, is the wall a thing again?

is it built?

Sheinbaum has caved, already turning the migrants around coming up from Guatemala.

I would be scared to take that bet also.  It was a fake promise meant for idiots to believe

I know that was all a bit tongue in cheek but having spent so much time there, 4 years in total over the last 9 years, you'd be surprised how accurate that feeling is. BTW I don't think it's an accurate reflection of the actual state of things up there, and many I think would rue the day of actually becoming americans ifit did happen but that hustle culture/can do (or CANDU if you're nuclear) feeling appeals to them. I just don't think they are truly ready to face that nor face the healthcare loss nor lose their actual model of government which I think does much better at in general responding to their needs. Def a bit of a wanting the best of both worlds.

Well gosh, now that he has given his word that he won’t drink I guess that’s that.

That rough ridin' statement means nothing.

If he has a bad enough drinking problem that he’s promising not to drink, the only thing I’d be interested in is evidence of Hegseth taking action. eff promises, they are worthless. Maybe he is taking action in a program of recovery tho, and for that our country would be grateful.

That’s a pretty rough ridin' serious job to be booze hounding through. Costs are super high if you do a bad job.

Like 99% of jobs aren’t the end of the world if you are boozed/hungover constantly. Secretary of Defense is in that 1%.

Secretary of agriculture, education, interior….you can get absolutely wrecked behind the desk at those jobs. No big deal.

Supreme Court justice is absolutely a job where you can get away with being hammered or hungover  all the time. Clerks do the reading and writing. You just have to sit there and not talk like Clearance.

His statement said that he would stop drinking if he gets the position, and that more or less confirms that he's still drinking right now.

When you are hiring someone and you come across an HR report from a previous employer that fired that employee and it looks like the file on Pete, are you hiring them?

Like he worked for a bunch of right wing freaks and they didn't like him because he was 1) a huge liability because of his drinking/womanizing 2) ineffective. It wasn't like he was a lib and broke bad, the call (email) is from inside the house (his mom) dax.
