So Bill Clinton was acting as authorized legal council for his wife . . . who held no official position of any kind in the U.S. government at the time of the meeting?

Fascinating take.

it's nuts to see how far things have gone over the last three years. there is absolutely nothing the libs can ever do that the pubs (other than Mitt) can show outrage about without looking like clowns.

Just want to make sure I have this correct, well known fake centrist Steve Dave thinks:

-Only caught by mere happenstance and blind luck secret meeting between private citizen Bill Clinton (on behalf of then private citizen Hillary Clinton) with sitting AGOTUS at airport 2500 miles away from Washington D.C.

Is the same as . . .

-Fully disclosed meetings between AGOTUS with counsel (checked auto correct) for the POTUS in Washington D.C.

Imagine the nuclear meltdown if dozens of Obama staffers were convicted of/pled guilty to crimes and he pardoned any of them. Seems pretty chill and normal.

It would be excessive if that were the sentence, but it's ultimately up to the Judge to either sentence below or above whatever the US Attorney recommends. This move by the DOJ shouldn't affect the Judge's decisionmaking, but you never know, because judges are people. Could backfire.

For reference, most of the Nixon conspirators, who were convicted of arguably more serious crimes, served 18 or fewer months.
My winning smile and can-do attitude.

They usually at least factor the reco in.  If it were futile the prosecutor wouldn't do it lest they get non stop trump level dunked on by being ignored.

News reports are suggesting that this Zelinsky prosecutor resigned from his post at the Justice Department, but are we sure he didn't just withdraw as an attorney of record in the case?
