I agree dax, we should all stand down and just let Putin work on his plan of creating world peace. It's clear that if us lefties stopped meddling Putin would have this all worked out in a few months.

It's absolutely surreal reading stuff like this, thinking back to how these mean ol Soviets were running roughshod over client states, massing nuclear weapons, fighting us tooth and nail (via proxies) at every wide spot in the road across the world.  Yet, the left demanded "peace",  Detente, arms limitations, understanding, reapproachment and had a total meltdown (at the surprisingly un-warlike) Ronald Reagan and his arms build up.

Oh well.

BTW Abe there's still nothing about current US foreign policy that's pro Russia on really any conceivable level.

The New Nuke'em Left aka the New McCarthyites should be ecstatic.

Sadly they're not, weird.

I don't think Abe was even alive during the Regan presidency, so that's some pretty remarkable hypocrisy from him

I don't recall calling Abe a hypocrite, lib.

(Re-reading: . . . Soviets . . . Detente . . . Roughshod . . . Wide Spot.  No, no "hypocrite" so far . . .)

Can't believe it's the republican party that sold out to russia.

Poor Ronald Reagan's legacy.

Maybe this will trigger a flip from some republicans the way that "Southern Democrats" flipped to Republican so they could keep being super racist.

That would assume they have any sense in them.

I'd love Dax to explain his support if growing an already enormous? defense budget but claiming Democrats are the ones wanting war.

Wanting more nukes when you already have a metric fuckton definitely means the desire for war.

It's not more nukes it's modernizing the ones we have.    Also new ICBM's

But friend, your hero kicked the whole nuclear modernization off in a big big way.

This has been discussed.   Huge facility right there in KC.

Well, if the left wants war (in your mind), and your guy Trump wants to get along with Putin (his words), then wouldn't the left standing down and letting Trump and Putin do what they want to do, avert this impending war? Which means we have peace? Please clear it up for me.

"We have to start winning wars again."

"I would bomb the crap out of 'em. I would just bomb those suckers."

"The United States must greatly strengthen and expand its nuclear capability"

Wait...is this a time we shouldn't take him literally?
