Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Sunday said Democrats will introduce legislation to overturn President Donald Trump's recent executive actions on immigration.

"If we get a few more Republicans, I think we might be able to pass legislation to overturn it," Schumer said at a press conference in New York. "It will be up to getting more Republicans."

Schumer noted that Sens. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) have already spoken out against Trump's order.

Weird, no meltdown about Obama's Cuba refugee executive order.

The Obama administration destabilized Syria then took in a whole 2000 Syrian refugees over 4 years.  Best they went to Europe I suppose.

Chuck and Don are pals irl, so I doubt they even draft legislation to propose.

I think the Dems are smart to just join in the hysterical outrage that is the response to all things Don, and then not actually do anything about it. They'd end up looking batshit attempting to address the substance of these moves.

Weird the the left was so complicit with the Obama Administration as they laid the groundwork for the worst humanitarian and potential national security crisis in decades, but now, when it needs to be dealt with, they completely meltdown about it.

Looking at the numbers, it's quite clear the Obama Admin gave no real effs about Syrian and Libyan refugees, preferring apparently to see them rot in refugee camps, or have to live their daily lives dealing with ISIS/AQ after the Obama administration toppled their governments, or tried to topple their government.    Now the intolerant selective left decides to get outraged.

Sad

Keep telling yourself this is okay dax.

Keep telling yourself it's completely out of the norm relative to the actions (or inaction) of previous administrations.   See Also: Cuban Refugee Ban  (not a temporary ban, a permanent ban)

But hey, it's perfectly alright for a Democratic administration to play a huge role in creating the "worst humanitarian crisis since WWII" (UN High Commission on Refugees), too essentially do nothing to help the refugees (while continuing to prosecute a war for regime change), while ignoring the potential security threats that war for regime change created.

That's some list of countries the b.o. admin decided were extra bad. Pay no attention to that, it's politically inconvenient. The proper rhetoric is "muslim ban", without acknowledgung that the order doesnt apply to over a billion (90%+) muslims.

Yeah, definitely nothing at all out of the norm here.

I don't even know of any republicans that defend this, but maybe they just don't want to admit that they support it, sort of like when they voted for Trump.

Sure, but topical hypocrisy is relevant, as is selective outrage.
