Some are.  Most aren't.  People don't have to support every single aspect of a candidate to vote for them.

Some are.  Most aren't.  People don't have to support every single aspect of a candidate to vote for them.

The wall was Trump's defining policy position. He had a lot of differences with Clinton in other areas, but during the primary, if you didn't support the wall, why would you vote for Trump?

I didn't vote for trump. Neither did most republicans during the primary. 

The idea that trump and his followers co-opted the republican party isn't new.

Without even looking up any numbers, I can say with confidence that the majority of Republicans did not vote for Trump during the primary.  I think it is safe to say that if you asked MOST Republicans, they would tell you Trump would not be their first choice.
