Before I visited the pit, I never considered Phil as a crazy lib. I guess it makes sense since he wants the city (citizens) to spend endless amounts of $ on meaningless things.

Speaking of spending money on meaningless things....are republicans good with this money spent of "voter fraud" and building the wall?  Seems like pretty big government at work, not reducing spending or the debt at all.

No

If that were true, Trump wouldn't have won the primary.

Casting a pretty wide net.  Are "American citizens" okay with spending money to out voter fraud and building the wall?

Some are.  Most aren't.  People don't have to support every single aspect of a candidate to vote for them.

The wall was Trump's defining policy position. He had a lot of differences with Clinton in other areas, but during the primary, if you didn't support the wall, why would you vote for Trump?

I didn't vote for trump. Neither did most republicans during the primary.

The idea that trump and his followers co-opted the republican party isn't new.

To be fair, a lot of the voters were probably dumb enough to believe that the wall wouldn't cost anything because Mexico would pay for it.

Without even looking up any numbers, I can say with confidence that the majority of Republicans did not vote for Trump during the primary.  I think it is safe to say that if you asked MOST Republicans, they would tell you Trump would not be their first choice.

The official Republican Party platform says we need a wall across the entire southern border suitable for stopping both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

I don't think most of his voters voted for him because of some dumbass wall.

Same thing with Bernie backers who sold out to vote for Hilldog.
