Welp. Was hoping that this would be a school car for the kids but it looks like I’m in the market for a new vehicle. Stupid deer tried to kill me and and one of the kids last night. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

No one was hurt, unless you're calling him a liar.

Did you get the deer's insurance info?

kinda think the deer would disagree that no one was hurt.

He died in the ditch before I could get his insurance details. No humans were injured.

Should've asked the cop to tag it for you and at least cut out the straps.

At a Ford dealership right now and they’re not even putting the stickers in the windows of the Broncos and instead have a tag that says “no haggle price, $84,985”.  Man that’s crazy.

I heard a radio story saying that something like 80% of cars are going for above MSRP as opposed to 5% a year ago.  Good luck out there.

My 2014 Honda Accord is paid off next month and because I never drive anywhere (working remote FT), my trade in value would be $15,000 (Only has 80K miles on it).  :surprised: I mean.... no car payment vs a new shiny toy. My cheap ass will always go no car payment, but a boy can dream.

the whole point of getting a honda accord is to have like 10 years of reliable car with no payments or repairs. congrats, clock starts next month

I have a 2015 Mazda 3 with 60,000 miles(I don't drive that much compared to many people) that I bought new and will drive for at least 3 more years. outside of standard oil changes/maintenance i've spent somewhere between $1k-2k on repairs.

All in, including financing, I probably spent $25,000 on this car in the last 8 years and by the time I move on to the next car the 'monthly' cost will be down around $200/month over the lifetime of the car. Even lower if I sell or trade it in at that time. Before the Mazda, I drove a 1998 Ford Escort for about 9 years.

Next car will probably be a bigger car(i'm tall), but I personally hate the idea of spending a larger chunk of my paycheck on cars. I want my car to be comfortable and reliable, but otherwise view it as a tool or a means to an end

I got curb rash on my passenger side front wheel. pulled up next to a house and the curb turned into a gutter and just scraped the crap out of it :blindfold:

I assume my spare tire isn't a 22" baller rim like my front one. If it's not I've got to get it fixed. Not sure what kind of cost I'm looking at there. infuriating, 2,500 miles and I feel like I'm driving a beat up POS.

God. That's really embarrassing. I hope you're not still driving that jalopy around where people might recognize you?

I keep getting trade-in offers from the dealer where we bought our ‘19 CR-V.  They’re offering to buy it back for $2K above what we paid originally, and exchange it for  a ‘22 CR-V at msrp. I’m about to pull the trigger

I was just looking at Turo for the first time.  Recommended?  Pro tips?

It's just AirBNB, but for cars. So, yes I do recommend. Pro tips? Like I said, it's like AirBNB. Communicate with the car owner about how/when/where you need to pick up the car.

Nothing cosmetic to report, but the 80 is running thanks to the finest shade tree ford mechanic in JoCo.  Now working on brakes so we can take it for a drive.
