Lenexa anecdote! I ate at a Middle Eastern buffet restaurant in a strip mall on 87th. It was pretty good but we were like like the only people there. Near the end of my meal the big middle aged Iranian chef/owner came out of the back and said super aggressively "YOU LIKE THIS FOOD?" like an interrogation and I was like "uh, yeah I do like it. Thank you."
Then he said "YOU ARE MY CUSTOMER NOW. YOU WILL COME BACK." and was like "of course!" Then again after I paid and was walking out the door he popped out of the kitchen to remind me again "YOU ARE MY CUSTOMER NOW".

I never went back because I did not live in lenexa or KC at all. I hope he's OK.

When I moved to Lenexa, all my neighbors had a Honda or Lawn-Boy lawn mower.  I felt outclassed with my 15 yo Toro.

Lenexans are a possessive bunch.

D-rew, you want your mind blown?  I'm pretty sure it'll be blown because you'd have already posted about this if it won't be blown.

There's a historic theater nearby.  Most of the stuff there is "classier" than usual acts and venues I go to.

http://www.stgpresents.org/paramount

Recently, they've been advertising that WWE NXT will be there.  No idea how WWE and The Paramount got matched up or how wrestling would even work in a theater that has all the seats facing a stage, but whatever.

http://www.stgpresents.org/tickets/alphabetical/eventdetail/2650/27/nxt-live

Cut to when I recently googled one of the people they're advertising for this, and look what wikipedia revealed:

Quote
Place of birth:   Lenexa, Kansas

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baron_Corbin

Unfortunately, for wwe purposes, he apparently shuns lenexa in favor of being from "kansas city."

Quote
Ring name(s)   Baron Corbin
Billed height   6 ft 8 in (2.03 m)[3]
Billed weight   275 lb (125 kg)[3]
Billed from   Kansas City[3]
Trained by   WWE Performance Center
Debut   May 8, 2013

One of your own is a full-fledged wwe'r and may soon be trashing our historically-preserved theater!

THE "LONE WOLF" IS FROM LENEXA?!?!  He just won the Battle Royal at wrestlemania is getting "called up" to the big time.   He's supposed to be the next great dastardly heel.

Reading his wiki, he's 31, which is a older than I thought.  I can't decide whether to be happy he's from Lenexa or be disgusted that he's "from" KC.

Also, NXT is awesome.  Go and watch Shinsuke Nakamura if he's gonna be there.

I'd only go if I could pak w/winters in the front row again and I don't even know how there could be a front row at this place.  I'm envisioning the ring up on a stage and everyone watching it like it's a play.

What an odd tour.  Exactly one week before coming here, they're in itch manhattan.  http://www.wwe.com/shows/wwenxt/article/nxt-live-tour-kansas-oklahoma-washington-oregon-may-2016

Give me an insidery lenexa thing I should say to the lone wolf if they're out doing tourist stuff during the day and I run into him.

Yeah.  For anyone else, I'll ask how they liked the scheme the previous week.  Surely that's where they'll carb-load before the big event at the bicentennial center, right?

This is a "Shawnee" thing but rumors are The Other Place is going to take over the old J. Murphy's place (k-7 and SMP) this fall.

Not really, it's a shawnee address.  The 66214 area code is both shawnee and OP and google defaults to OP for all addresses in that zip code for some reason.
