you know how i know that you're a bad person? When you can't stop smiling and are like super happy at me and laugh a bunch and it's like the first time we've ever talked/met. i know you aren't a good person so stop it.

question for psych cats: if you're worried you may be a sociopath would it even be possible to be a sociopath?

I'm pretty sure that most sociopaths know that they are sociopaths. The thing is that they don't worry about and aren't bothered by it so by definition, if you think you might be one and it worries you, then you aren't.

what if you're just curious about whether you are or aren't, but it doesn't really worry you?

If you're wondering about yourself, I'll save you some time. You aren't.

yes, I take this as insincerity and it rubs me the wrong way, as well.

the first rule of talking to strangers is to only talk to a stranger that has an avenue of escape.

It's possible they're trying overly hard to be friendly.  Or perhaps they just don't have great people skills.  This does not qualify someone as a bad person, but yeah it's annoying.

i already figured out that i'm not, but it wouldn't bother me if i was.  actually, if i was slightly sociopathic, i think it might make me more interesting to myself.

Here is something that annoys me:

When a person makes sure to use your name a lot. It is like they have been taught that people like to hear their own name so they are doing it just because they were taught to do that, not because they sincerely want to say your name.

Also, there are some things that are like "good manners" or "nice things" but sometimes they come off as the person is doing it because they were taught that a good person does those things and so they should do them, not because they are sincerely a good person and really WANT to do them and they are just a natural result of being a good person.

Is that weird that it annoys me?

Very brief amounts of urinal small talk are acceptable but it has to be at the stadium.

"You see that catch Cain made?"

"Yeah, total stud"

"Yeah"

And that's it!!  Any more than that and it's weird.  Zip up and walk away.

Seems weird/awkward to me to talk to anyone at a urinal but what do I know.

yes.  it should amuse you.

i beast out like 5 solid reps of a new persons name right off the bat so i can be sure to know their name in case i need it. its not for you, it's for me.

having to tell people your name over and over again is way worse than hearing someone say your name excessively

i instantly flush from my mind the name of any new person i meet the first 10-20 times i hear it.  only after i have repeatedly encountered someone for a month or so does my brain consider the possibility that it should learn that person's name.

I am not a sociopath.
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

Yes, if you tell me your name and then immediately ask me what your name is, I won't know it.
