« on: October 01, 2015, 08:32:39 AM »
i really don't like most of them. When i was in highschool/college there weren't many people that i didn't like, maybe two or three people in the whole world. but now I'm like- that person is an a-hole, that person is an idiot, gosh i don't want to hang out with that person again. What gives? I'm guessing this is a normal occurrence the older you get and I'm not some kind of outlier crotchety weirdo but not sure why this is. thoughts?

These types of people drive me nuts:
1. Act like they are awesome
2. Act like they know everything
3. Talk about other people when they aren't around (especially if I don't consider the person talking to me to be a very close friend)

Otherwise, I love people. Rick, I think I would like you, but maybe you wouldn't even give me a chance at this point in your old crotchety life.

What I've noticed the older I've gotten is I have absolutely no desire to meet anyone new. I don't like getting old, it's stupid  :don'tcare:

I get along with most people, but internally I'm kinda "meh" about it all.

Time.  It takes more effort when you have less time.  When you have less time, who wants to put in that much effort?  Ugh.

What? Are you saying people with children hate more or fewer people than people without children? Or just that people hate people who have children?

I don't especially like most people, but I hate very very few people. 90% fall within a gray area.

two peopley things that are kind of connected-
-i wish people were more self-aware
-i wish people would not walk around looking down at their phones all of the time

one time this kid that was a year older than me that I really didn't know very well despite us being from the same small town died in a car accident and I wasn't really sad. I empathized with his family and stuff but didn't cry or anything despite literally everyone else at school crying about it openly. felt bad about not being sad. thought maybe I was a sociopath for awhile but realized that I get really sad about other people having bad things happen and I probably just didn't like him that much.

this is without question the #1 defining midwestern trait (lack of self-awareness)
