I like most people. Some people like me back, but most grow tired of me quickly.  I am not good at being friends with others, but it doesn't mean I don't like them.

-i wish people were more self-aware

this is without question the #1 defining midwestern trait (lack of self-awareness)
not politeness?  Actually, the two are somewhat opposite

My boss told me that I was very self aware. I told him that I was not aware of that.
We laughed.
Actual thing that happened.

it's an age thing and a male thing.  males become markedly less social as they age.

I don't hate anyone (well maybe I could think if a couple people if I really tried) but a lot of people really annoy me.

I like most people. I also don't hold grudges and stuff IRL. I am not one to initialize a convo with a rando, but I am way more likely now than when I was younger.

that's typical of females.  you're annoyed because of how socially engaged you are.  an old male wouldn't have even noticed the things you are annoyed by.

I like people unless they get in the way of me trying to do something, whether they mean to or not. However, once that "trying to get something done" is achieved or you remove yourself from my objective all is forgiven and life continues on. Rest of the time I usually don't care for or against. Do whatever you want as long as you aren't harming others, it's not going to offend me or annoy me. Also I have a fairly short memory when it comes to people who have wronged me unless it's either consistent or truly serious.

I thought this was going to be about the app peeple, which should result in hilariously sad hijinks.

Figured he might have heard about it on AM talk radio and was unaware of the non-standard spelling.

maybe i don't really dislike them but I'm definitely apathetic towards them. Like i don't feel like i have any reason to talk to most people or whatever. also, sometimes at work after I've had to talk a lot during the day, I'll tell the other work people that I'm talked out and have already used all of my words and not to bug me. Is that weird? i mean it's seems like a normal/reasonable request.

Let's say that you are walking out of a store and a person tells you to "Have a nice day". What would your reaction be?

a. Say "You too" back to them
b. Smile
c. Ignore them and keep walking
d. Complain that they talked to you because that was unnecessary.

OMG, I hate really dislike overly attentive waitresses. I also hate when they phrase things like they are part of your dining party. "What will we be having tonight? How was our meal? Did we save room for dessert?"

There is a fine line of just the right amount of attentiveness to make me really happy. Like, take my order in a timely fashion but if I need more time to decide then you better give me more time and not come back after only 30 seconds. And make sure that my drink never gets empty but don't come ask me how I am doing a million times.

Other than screwing up orders and stuff, there are only two things that waitresses do that piss me off.  Otherwise, DGAF:

1. Call me "sweetie".

2. Let glasses get empty and stay empty an unreasonable amt of time.

I hate small talk with anyone. And by "small talk" I am not talking about pleasantries like just saying Hi or Have a nice day.

Small talk might be more scary than mayo covered pickles. I hate that random idiots think they have some sort of permission to talk to me like I'm a friend. It's basically rape and should be prosecuted as such
