riley county isn't central kansas.  jesus rough ridin' christ, what a ridiculous notion.

The northern half of Kansas doesn't even have a central Kansas!

No, Salina is in the north half and is in central KS.

Yeah, it's definitely eastern KS. You could make a case for western Missouri.

if you made a venn diagram of central kansas and western kansas, the entire central kansas circle would be inside the western kansas circle.

You clearly have never spent any time whatsoever in western Kansas.

the vast majority of kansas is in fact western kansas. and "central kansas" is just a part of western kansas that western kansans like to think is separate.

Central Kansas is a rectangle that goes from Wichita up to Salina. Coffeeville is in eastern Kansas. It's not like eastern Kansas is some mecca that is too good for Topeka.

You're assuming people think of eastern Kansas when they think of Kansas

It would be nice if Manhattan and Topeka could switch locations so Topeka, Junction City, and Salina could be their own shitty region.

The problem ITT is we're painting with too broad of a brush. And we're using the wrong terminology.

Disagree if you want, but take it up with known stud Geography of Kansas prof Chuck Martin.

If you want real man Kansas talk, gloat about the geographical region you are from.  This can tell you much about the person.  I am from the red jaw hill country of Reno, Sedgwick, and Kingman  Counties.  Poor soil and hardscrabble farms with more scrawny cows than people.  You can still find jackrabbits.

Spracne pretended you didn't exist when he lived in Reno County.

Great support for my argument kstatefan11!

Glaciated/Osage Cuestas aka Eastern KS (Topeka -> East)

Smoky/Flint/Red Hills/Arkansas River Lowlands aka Central KS (Hays -> Topeka)

High Plains aka Western KS (Colorado -> Hays)
