Seriously? I've read a bunch of these threads and it seems as though many ppl on here are relying on every "he said/she said" report out there. One could be completely contradicting the other. How do you sleep at night? I'm gonna wait to hold judgment until there is an official announcement or press conference from Pres/AD of the schools rumored to be leaving. K-State will be fine when all is said and done.

The talking point "yeah but MWC + XII schools + Boise State = BCS Conference" is getting entirely too much run.  The whole point is that if the football "power" schools are all consolidated in three or four major conferences (Big Ten, Pac-32, SEC, ACC), those major conferences will ditch the BCS and form their own playoff system that excludes the MWC, Big East, et al.  Then it won't matter if the MWC is "worthy" of the BCS because the BCS won't exist anymore.

How long would you have thought it would take to annihilate the Big 12 Conference?  Certainly longer than it really took.  Sure, it'll take a few years, but in the end it won't matter.  Sooner or later, it's all the same.  This is a sad sack of crap for us and for fans of KU, Mizzou, ISU, etc.  Even if the wet dream of getting into the SEC were real, we'd still be the doormats of the SEC every year.  Would you rather suck in an awesome conference or be above average to great in a lower-echelon conference?  I think my answer is neither- I'd rather be reasonably competitive in a major conference.  Kind of like how things were in the Big 12 (when we weren't just fracking it up for ourselves).

salivating over the possibility of K-State, ku, mu, baylor, & isu finding 3 others schools to retain the BCS affiliation granted to the "Big 12?" I believe only 8 teams are required to retain the BCS and TV contracts established by the "Big12." Also, does anyone know where all the buyout money goes when the 7 other schools leave the conference? This has all probably been discussed, I'm just to busy to dig for it.

P.S. - I still like my original idea of calling it the Prairie League
