I understand about MWC basketball . . . but it's not like there's no one there capable of being decent. Utah was good under Majerus, UNM appears to be headed up under Alford, BYU doesn't suck. Yeah it's not as compelling as the Big 12 in hoops, I get that . . . the new Big East has some intrigue as well, I just don't see those remaining Big East teams sticking out their hand very far to get K-State though.
But . . . ND says Yes to the Big 10 and it's all over on the Big 10 side, Cornhole and Moo will be told to go F themselves. The lynchpin is STILL Notre Dame.
If the MWC were to add KSU and Baylor, or KSU and KU, then the BBall, IMO, will be roughly as good as the Big 12 today. I mean, really after the top four teams, it's all a crap shoot anyway.
Utah, KSU, KU (or Baylor), UNLV, BYU, New Mexico...that's pretty good competition in the upper half. It would raise the overall profile of the conference too, so that wouldn't hurt recruiting too much.
You can have a good program in a crap conference if you win a boatload of games and send kids to the NBA. I mean, look at Memphis and Cincy back in the day.
