i really think that texas wants to keep the big12

I think it speaks volumes that we're only hearing NU and MU have a deadline to commit.

Why?

Their the only school of the Nortards that brings anything to the table in football and from a national television standpoint.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

what if mu and nebraska leave, everyone finds out that texas was pac10 bluffing, oklahoma schools to the north and then arkansas to the south along with one other school.  setting up an ou/texas big12 fball championship in dallas every year.

Would Arkansas leave the SEC?

no idea. people seem to think that they'd consider it due to them sucking in the sec and it reopening texas recruiting.

Then we add TCU and call it a day.  Big 12 north just got better in all major sports.

No doubt the Texas Legislature factor is going to weigh heavy on the Pac-10's decision.    Colorado doesn't have enough horsepower to overcome potentially losing the Texas schools entirely because Baylor isn't invited to the Pac-10.

I love how KU fans are starting to get pissed off and are blaming K-State on the fact that they are being overlooked in the realignment talk.  Like it's our fault that no one lives in Kansas and they can't deliver the television sets needed to spark any real interest in their university when discussing possible super conference invitations.

it's really funny/sad how delusional they can be.  they keep going back to their operating revenue as some sort of metric that the other conferences would look at when considering who to invite.  operating revenue means very little, if anything, in the big picture...

this whole thing is all about how television sets a school can bring with it and unfortunately for KU, they're still in Kansas.  seems to be something we've always known and embraced, and yet they've forgotten, a long time ago.

Most of them grew up in Johnson County (over 70% of the  undergrad population is from JoCo) so they have no idea that the bottom line is this . . . it's still KANSAS.

I think Deloss Dodds asked Chip Brown paint the NU football complex Texas colors in the middle of the night.

Yep.

Catzacker pretty much nailed it earlier in this thread.

lol

Muster up some amount of honesty and ask yourself, who(between ku and ksu) has a better chance at being picked up by these future super conferences?

Now ask yourself, who then benefits most by being artificially tied to the other?

answering this question is like asking which is more likely to happen: something with a 1/1million chance or a 1/2million chance?  But, I mean, feel free to blame ksu for ku not even being wanted by anyone.

LOL.  You noob.  That was Tom Osborne orchestrating that through a bunch of posters on the Red Sea Scrolls.

So, do NU and MU roll the dice on getting asked out by the Big 10 and risk getting left with the rest of us Nor-Tards?  Would be hilarious.

Talked to my conference insider today. Same one that told me about Patterson (before it fitzed up).

Texas AD told nubb and mizz that right now, 'they're dating the second best girl and wanting to date the number one girl...but they better be careful, because the number two girl is about to dump them.'

basically, EVERYTHING is going to be in nebraska's hands. If they stay, then the big 12 stays together. They leave, and the 6 teams go to the pac10. That simple. Mizz mumped themselves and are going to be out regardless. Utah is the replacement.

Baylor isn't going to be bailed out by the Texas legislature this time. It'll be the south teams minus Baylor and Colorado that would get the invites.

Ku lobbied for the pac10 group, but UCLA said absolutely not...they have nothing to offer, and would just take hoops trophies. Ku is in worse shape than ksu as far as appeal.

MWC would likely pick up ksu and Baylor.

The above is 100% accurate. He is a high ranking person in a south school and has been in on closed door meetings.

Is there a reason the Big XII wouldn't remain and just get their pick of the litter from MWC, WAC, and maybe some Big East scraps? Seems to be the easiest route.

christ, this is the best football off season I can remember.  I doubt NU has the balls, but would be awesome if they did.

Well we've been over it before but let's do it again, the Mountain West:

K-State
Boise State
Utah
BYU
Baylor
New Mexico
TCU
SDSU
Air Force
Wyoming
Colorado State
UNLV

They have their own TV network already.   They play pretty damn good football, combined they've won 3 BCS bowl games in the last 5 years including beating OU and embarrassing the $hit out of Alabama.

Does anyone else think this would be hilarious?

KSU, ISU, Baylor and Boise St. to the MWC. The MWC gains BCS eligibility.

KU goes to the Big East. Pitt and Rutgers go to the Big 10. West Virginia and Louisville go to the SEC. The Big East loses BCS standing.
