Lol, Phoenix considered while KC is not.

All of those cities currently have bowl games.  The Champions Bowl will become one of the existing bowls in those cities.  The Big12/SEC aren't in the business of putting on bowl games.

also nobody wants to go to rough ridin' kansas city for a bowl game

Even though MU begged for it.

I only meant to imply that the SEC east was soft.  You guys are right.  Missouri will never see this game.

Missouri should win the east this year. That doesn't have anything to do with playing in the Champions Bowl, though.

Mizzou will not finish ahead of South Carolina or UGA. 3rd in the East at best. 4th most likely.

They have an easier schedule than both of those teams and they will beat one of them. Missouri is going to be pretty good this year.

They will lose to both. The East is soft, but I don't see Mizzou being able to run the ball well enough to win the East.

Also the Big 12 was better top to bottom than the SEC was last year so everyone can stfu with the "those teams are going to get worked lol" talk.

They won the Big 12 North just 4 years ago, and the SEC East is no better than the Big 12 North was in 2008.

The North was so weak that year that even a bottom feeder like KU went to a BCS Bowl.  Think about that... also OU smoked them in the CCG.

Actually, KU went to their BCS bowl the season before, when Missouri also won the North. You just don't understand how terrible the SEC East is, I guess.

You may be right.  However, I think that with Florida, Georiga and South Carolina in the SEC east, there's a lot of opportunity for that division to improve in a hurry.  I mean, Florida was bad last year because their offense sucked balls.  Now that Weis is no longer their OC, those 4- and 5-star athletes are suddenly going to start playing the  way they're capable of.  And with the Ol' Ball Coach at South Carolina, the gamecocks will be dangerous again.

Missouri's east division games include road trips to the Swamp, to Neyland and to South Carolina (I think they lose two if not all three).  They have east division home games vs UGA, Vandy, Kentucky (I think they win all three).  Plus they host Bama and play at A&M in the west (I think they lose one or both).  I think their best case scenario is 3 losses and I wouldn't be surprised with 5.  And I haven't even mentioned the Pinkel factor, yet.  Regardless, that's not championship caliber.

You may be right.  However, I think that with Kansas State, Nebraska, and Colorado in the Big 12 North, there's a lot of opportunity for that division to improve in a hurry.  I mean, Colorado was bad last year because of all the off the field problems.  Now that Hawk is in town, those 4- and 5-star athletes are suddenly going to start playing the  way they're capable of.  And with the Callahan recruiting his ass off at Nebraska, the huskers will be dangerous again.

theDudeofWV: The Big 12 and FSU have been engaged in formal talks for at least the last 4 weeks.
theDudeofWV: Louisville, was the last candidate standing for #12.
theDudeofWV: I realize that many who know the FSU program think it unlikely that FSU would move without a partner from the ACC.
theDudeofWV: Yet it was made clear to me that FSU has made the decision to leave the ACC regardless of who was selected for #12.
theDudeofWV: The has been a deterioration of the relationship between FSU & the ACC that began 2 years ago.
theDudeofWV: FSU was unhappy with the leadership of the ACC and the conferences failure to position itself in a football dominated landscape.
theDudeofWV: FSU is concerned about the commitment of the majority of ACC schools to football & the impact that lack of commitment
theDudeofWV: will have on revenues especially considering a 9 game conf. schedule & playoff shares.
theDudeofWV: FSU was also adamantly opposed to the ACC's offer to ND to bring the Irish into the league as a partial member.
theDudeofWV: FSU believes the deal offered ND wold not significantly improve the ACC's TV revenues & would actually reduce the shares of full members.
theDudeofWV: FSU was also upset that the ACC failed to consider their input in the ND offer and blatantly ignored FSU's advisements.
theDudeofWV: To summarize. The Big 12 is waiting on the numbers from CCG talks with potential sponsors before deciding to offer FSU & UL.
theDudeofWV: Both FSU & UL have made it clear to the Big 12 they both would accept membership in the Big 12 should the offer come.
theDudeofWV: TV Network (ESPN) not willing to give B12 the value for the addition of FSU the B12's valuation says they should.
theDudeofWV: It comes down to the money the B12 would receive from the CCG. Will expansion pay enough to justify any additions.
theDudeofWV: That's all I have. I've waited over a week to confirm the information before sharing it

Yeah, if he says it enough times it's bound to come true.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008
