I haven't deleted anything, and yes we all know how it works. It's 1000% a suburban setting, city limit signs or not.

I intentionally kept "suburban" in my original post and I got the exact reaction I was expecting.

The area around SMU feels very suburban. But like a nice older one! It reminds me a lot of Brookside in KC.

There are certainly people who define suburban like kRusty and dax, but I'm with Spracne. Olathe is suburban, brookside is not.

When neighborhoods like Brookside, College Hill in Wichita, Highland Park in Dallas, etc. were built they were definitely suburban when they were built, usually on the far edge of the city limits or outside of them before later being annexed.

Oddly, it looks like Highland Park is considered a “town” and not a neighborhood of Dallas proper. Kind of like Eastborough, which when originally built was completely outside of Wichita and about a mile or two removed from the eastern edge of the city limits.

I said it FELT suburban. Like there is a lot of Kansas City north of the river feels as suburban as it gets

At the end of the day, I'm a rising tide to lift all boats kind of person and if it will affirm and validate spracs, then he can have this one, because I know his anal retention and OCD is roaring like an F1 engine and I don't want to see him in that mode for a protracted period. It's not healthy.

I go by the look and feel of the neighborhood and its proximity to the urban core and for all matter of speaking the two areas in question are inner suburbia regardless of the city limit signs.

I consider anything not in an actual city center to be suburban in most circumstances. I consider Brookside to be suburban, for example. Less suburban than Olathe, but I think it's fair to call it suburban.

Highland Park and University Park are outliers in this discussion, probably.

Both are literally surrounded by the city of Dallas, so it’s hard to think of them as “suburban” in the way almost everyone uses that term.

I have no idea why they exist the way they do but I always just assumed it was rich white Dallasites who decided they didn’t want to share tax dollars with the poors.

The Highland Park wiki page addresses that. It was like the OG suburb/development. They tried to have Dallas annex them, but Dallas said no. Years later, after the Highland Park development proved successful and Dallas had continued to expand around them, Dallas tried to annex them, but they flipped Dallas the bird.

THE SUPER LEAGUE is not going away. Brian Rolapp, NFL Media Chief, oversees the new proposed SUPER LEAGUE. His position is second to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Several business executives along with college presidents and boards are working on this project. It won't work like conferences are set up. The 80 teams will be separate businesses working on a united set of policies and rules; much like the NFL. Athletics will be under a collective so all policies and rules will apply to every team. So, everything would be agreed upon and approved by the Super League and the collective. There will be an equal salary cap. Separate earnings could be made by athletics through NIL but under the same rules as the NFL.

This new league is to be formed in the next 5-10 years. Most of what I have been hearing but not everything since there is too much information floating around. If you hear more details, let us know what they are.

I use to poo poo this idea but I do think it is likely to happen now. Too much potential liability for the P2 schools to breakaway on their own. This solves a lot of the problems that exist now.
