I don't think getting out pick of the ACC is really going to matter. Huge 20+ team conferences make no sense at all and it feels to me like the Big 10 and SEC are only doing it temporarily so they have an easy time breaking away once they have the ACC schools they want. They'll probably break up into pro sports style divisions at that point.
If you don't think that Zona, CU, Utah, ASU mattered, then that's fine.
But, if you did, Va Tech, NC State, Louisville, etc. are comparable and, in my view, would move the needle. Maybe not massively, but getting to 20 provides more games/inventory and, in theory, more $$$. Maybe not a ton, but should be some.
If nothing else, the interest from these PE firms indicates their belief that college football is undervalued (maybe b-ball too).
