In fact, there are very few protected rivalries:

KSU/KU
ASU/AU
BYU/UU
TCU/BU

No rivalries: CU, TTU, UH, OSU, ISU, CIN, WVU, UCF

Teams without rivalries have six opponents that they'll face three out of four years.  Teams with rivalries have four such opponents.  Everyone else plays twice out of four years.

Our not-a-pod of KU+CU/OSU/ISU/UC feels like it might be easier than most over the long haul.  Depends on how things go in Colorado, I guess.

I am only disappointed that I won’t get to see a game in Florida until 2027, and only once per four years.

Pretty much....the "Farmageddon" part is a much more recent aspect - I think it popped up in the original Conference Armageddon as manufactured hype after losing Neb, CU, and Mizzou.

I didn't even consider Mizzou a rival and most people didn't until Prince started losing to them. I kinda wish we played OSU and ISU every year because I think regional familiarity is why the sport works, but whatever.

I absolutely lost my crap, definitely over the top. I literally live five minutes from Jack Trice Stadium, I'm a selfish bitch. I'm still super bitter about K-State volleyball only playing Iowa State once this year while playing teams I don't give a crap about twice.

Like I inherently understand it, but I also under the current way conference realignment is going, the unfortunate reality unless you change how many games are played in conference. Hence my apathetic part cause not really anything we can do. It's an impotent rage.

Almost everyone is hating on this new schedule talking about "pods".  I get the concept of pods, but can someone ELI5 why pods are a bad idea?

Personally, I hate divisions, and I think pods are just mini-versions of divisions.  And I love how the old BXII had everybody play everybody... so I think this new schedule is kind of like that with protected 'rivalries'?
