it is sad that a historical and interesting building cannot be repurposed but that is the world we live in

I've watched meaningful sports in that building, I used to enroll at that building so many years ago. I camped out for basketball tickets there, played basketball in there, a lot. I worked at the Natatorium, line judged Big 12 and team USA Volleyball in that building. When it's gone, I won't miss a solitary thing about it. crap building, I'm glad the volleyball team is gone, can't wait for indoor track to join them.

I agree.  It's an ugly, unwelcoming POS that's taking up a huge chunk of prime real estate on campus.  Hopefully the natatorium goes with it and they repurpose that entire block.

To me, the highlight here is how many Big 10 games will be on Fox and FS1. They're only getting a maximum of 32 Big 10 games a year. That's less than 3 games a week with as many 11 or 12 available windows each week. That's a crap ton of inventory left for the Big 12 and whatever remnants of the Pac 12 that Fox decides to bid on, will be interesting to see if the early reports of Fox passing on Pac 12 rights are true.

I keep seeing “window exclusivity” pop-up. I think that means just network broadcast & Fox isn’t even allowed to air BigTen games on Fox at 2:30. The Big12 is really the only viable option if they want to air double headers. Surely Fox isn’t going down to just 1 game per week to make the BigTen happy & not give CBS broadcast network competition.

I have a hard time seeing the PAC-10/Fox get back together, but money talks. If they kill the Pac-10 with the BigTen, I could easily see them paying to expand the Big12 to fill the 2:30 slot the first 7 weeks & a Big12 double header at 2:30/6:30 after mid-October.

McMurphy seems as reputable as they come in that biz, so it’s interesting to see his quotes about the big 10 expanding by as many as 5 more. I suspect that almost every big 10 expansion scenario depends upon Notre Dame however.

The natatorium is permanently closed, so it shouldn't be too big of a deal to tear it down.

I've racked my brain to see if I've done anything wrong.  Again, the only time I was negative really was when I was ticked off about a couple of the promotional events they had like Hot Dog Gate and Popcorn Gate ... when the athletic department completely screwed it up, and it was 1981 KSU athletics all over again ... no excuse for that from a $40 Million dollar plus enterprise, and not when I send relatives to one of those events because they were having a tough time and needed a night out for themselves and their kids and it was a complete disappointment for them, basically money just flushed right down the Toilet and Weiser basically doesn't give a $hit.

Again, other then that, I can't think of anything.   That's why when I tell my family or close friends about this, they just laugh at the absudity.

I don't think so. I believe that they understand the need for the whole sport to be healthy. Their bottom line is enhanced the more national they can make the sport.

I this is obviously a long time down the road, but I do think it will ultimately help get conference realignment under control. The non football sports will go back to region based conferences while college football goes national. I could see a promotion/relegation type system that allows for the bigger programs to get a bigger chunk. Schools like Northwestern, Illinois, Rutgers, Missouri, and Vanderbilt are out of their minds if they think getting an equal share is something that going to continue long term.
