That is probably true. It was poor contractual language on their part.
It could break a few ways. We take the money now, refuse to extend the GOR, and go forward and let hell break loose in 8-9 years. We negotiate a smaller deal, extend the GOR, and bet on these schools growing into legit P5 programs.
Or we just say to hell with it and drop the whole thing.
Either way, every school needs to take this money and grow their profile. In less than a decade, we may be back in the singles market.
