TCU and West Virginia will receive 67 percent shares in the 2013-14 school year, 84 percent shares in 2014-15 and full shares in 2015-16.

That number could reach $30 million per school soon as the money from the conference's media rights deals escalates later in the contract, and the Big 12 will distribute approximately $4 million more once the contract from its Champions Bowl agreement with the SEC begins.

The Big 12 schools made more money this year than the SEC schools.  They are only distributing 21.7M per school this year.  Our 22M per school doesn't include third tier, so KU, for example, is making WAY more than Mizzou, for example.  KU makes a bunch on basketball third tier. 

I hadn't realized that ours is going to ratchet up so much in the coming years.  The SEC network is going to have to be a huge windfall to make them have a significant amount more than us (per school) in the future.

I'm curious as to what the SEC classifies as 3rd tier.  For example, Florida has a 10-year, $10MM per year deal with SunSports.  That includes some non-revenue sports content that is usually considered 3rd tier.  However, a big chunk of that is a Sunday morning broadcast of FB games using Florida's own cameras, including coaches camera film, and using the radio broadcast as the audio.  Will Florida still be allowed to do this?

That's all going bye bye.  ESPN needs Florida content to get their money's worth.

What will happen is that a lot of games that are regionally telecast will get pushed from that model and onto the SEC Network.  Essentially, it's just going to be a consolidation of everything and it will function as a network instead of stuff going onto ESPN 3.  But this model will allow them to gouge cable subscribers for more money in the SEC states.

The other big thing is that the SEC will get tremendous branding in addition to what they have now.

But we'll still make more money.

I think there will eventually be a shakeup of some sort (not saying this is it) after this round of TV contracts is over.  These 14 team conferences are going to end up absolutely hating it.

I agree and would add that somebody that is/thinks they are a "big boy" in the SEC will get disgruntled.  Arkansas makes the most sense, especially if Beliema fails to live up to the success of Petrino.

I think there is a good chance those WVU guys will always be wrong.

The problem the Big 10 has is that people are going to view them like they viewed the Big East when Miami and Virginia Tech were members, if they aren't viewing them that way already. It's just a garbage conference with 1-2 good teams.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility at all that 1 or 2 SEC schools may not be all that thrilled with the way things are playing out.   I think once the cold hard reality hits that while the SEC network will be lucrative, it will be no more lucrative and potentially less lucrative than the Tier I/II conference/Tier III school scenario you have in the Big 12.

It would not surprise me in the least to hear that a school like LSU called an asked some questions of the Big 12, the same with Arkansas.   If they move, they bring the entire state with them.   When that happens, you potentially get a "re-look" at the ESPN/FOX deal, and they get to go out and forge their own lucrative Tier III deal.   They immediately create the need for a Big 12 Championship game (more money) and create a balanced conference with just two divisions and no whacked out scheduling scenarios, and within their likely division the traveling is very easy.  For Arkansas it would be extremely easy. 

Probably not going to happen, but again, not that crazy to think about.

Oh, but that's never going to happen if a school from a conference like the SEC has to come over as a "junior member".   They'll want a full share right out of the gate, but i don't think the SEC has much in the way of exit fees, and they don't have a GOR.
