I'm pretty sure he was the one last week with bitb that said the only reason the Big12 stuck together was KU basketball.  Of course, he may just be trying to give his alma mater another arbitrary banner to hang.

Harlan is a pretty good play by play guy and I am sure he knows some people/hears some things but he is no insider.  He does sound like he knows what he is talking about with that great voice of his.

Also, he's one of the first guys from the media to say this about the big 10 going to 16 from a very reliable source.  Not sure about the "going to twenty with KU" thing.

At this point, it would be tough for the big 10 to surprise me with anything they did.  If I would have told you a year ago that they would go get Rutgers and Maryland and expand to 14, you all would have said that's ridiculous...I would have said it was ridiculous too. 

No one believes that the SEC and big 10 are really happy with 14 teams. 

So far, the big 10 has had really varied reasons for expanding.  Nebraska brings no new subscriptions for the big 10 network, but is a national football brand enhancement for the big 10, and met the AAU criteria when they joined.  Maryland is AAU and brings subscriptions, and decent basketball tradition and not even on the radar in football.  Rutgers brings NOTHING except for arguably subscriptions for the network and meets the AAU criteria, but many people have been skeptical about how much Rutgers will really bring.

Who the eff knows what the big 10 is going to value next?

SEC proved that a 6:8 good:bad ratio works very well at proping up the 6 by allowing them to rack up wins.  Big 10 must be banking on a 2:3:9(or 11, 13, 15) ratio to prop up OSU and Mich and allow MSU, Wisc, Neb, and PSU to move up in rankings by racking up wins over pud teams and avoiding each other.

There is only one KU vs ISU game per year. The Big 10 has like 15 of them.

the point is we have maybe 5 total bad games out of season they have 5 bad games a week now
