I think Huggins might get WVU to challenger status before hoiberg does.
Huggins system is designed for talent differential. Your bench better be good, you better be good at playing Huggs ball. Hoiberg's system is great for talent, Holberg is the most underrated recruiter in the country, imo. Finds shooters, ball handlers at every postion. Huggs system travels well, Hoibergs doesn't.

Look at Huggins' trend the last four seasons and then take a gander at his recruiting the past few years.  This season is the spike and once Staten is gone Huggs will be back into the middle if not lower.  He doesn't have guard talent in the pipeline.

Huggins has had plenty of time to build a program at WVU. Hoiberg seems to improve every year and kinda started with McNeck's dogshit players.

Huggins regressed.  He's on that down swing.

Huggins regressed.  He's on that down swing.

Then he completely changed everything and it is working.

The next step is when he starts landing those high 4-star and occasional 5-star guys.  Then he goes to the NBA before they win anything too big.  Then they're never that good again in their entire history.

They're going to be shitty again after this year.  Then Huggs is going to retire or implode and get fired.  He's burning up before our very eyes.  A career extinguished.  This is that last great drag before it's some sad litte puffs and then, ope, cashed.

Brad could be the only one on Huggs original staff not looking for a Job and he was the ops guy.

I just meant I don't think Iowa state will ever be a serious contender, I probably should have just said that.

Probably because WVU isn't really all that good. As WVU takes more and more lumps in conference play it's going to become painfully obvious that a decent team would have beat them at home.

Yeah, I was pretty wrong about them. I thought with their effort and defense they would give a lot of teams trouble, but they will mainly only give teams with terrible guards trouble.

there's a lot of teams in the big 12 that can lose to a lot of teams, even at home.

i don't want to sound like a broken record, but the league's kenpom just astounds me.  i can dismiss the rpi, because the rpi is trash.  but the kenpom is just crazy.

It seems WVU was hit a wall as of late, have been really flat.
