No it really seems like he wasn't stereotyping. He's a dumbass morning show host who, like all dumbass morning show hosts, specializes in stupid innocuous blather.
That's the whole show. So when it was mentioned that Faulkner serves this traditional
summer dish for Thanksgiving, he asked if she also served another summertime staple at Thanksgiving - KoolAid. He even said "makes me think of summer."
So if he's guilty of anything, it appears to be that he should have known that koolaid is some obscure black stereotype (I still think this is bizarre) and not knowing that you just shouldn't say that to a black person lest you look like you're stereotyping.
