So you're saying that people who listen to NPR are more informed than Fox News viewers about how an explosion of African horned lizards due to climate change are threatening the basket weaving trade in Botswana? I can buy that. I listen to NPR occassionally and it is pure dreck. The formula seems to be: Intro music (some weird off-key "music" or drums, followed by somebody with a milquetoast voice (British accent is a plus) telling me something I couldn't give two shits about happening on the other side of the world.

I think its the blatant hypocrisy which is propagated by hits viewership. I mean people would care less if they didn't believe in their shtick so much. "Fair and Balanced" when they are the most partisan. Battling against the "mainstream media" when they have the largest viewership. Its the complete lack of perspective which makes fox so disgusting.

Not too many have really cheerleaded anything from cable and network news, and nobody has really gone out of their way to defend lousy democratic political opportunists.

I don't know about Fox News as a whole, and would even agree that Sean Hannity is noxious - but the O'Reilly Factor and Fox News Sunday are both excellent. Their guests, commentators, and analysis are all generally superior to the other news networks. Bill O'Reilly, Chris Wallace, Brit Hume, and Ed Henry are some of the best in the business.

I'm starting to notice Fox News seems to be the channel of choice in a lot of places - gyms, restaurants, and other public places where I would typically think the business would be worried about offending the the libs. I'm seeing Fox News starting to supplant CNN at airports, which is pretty amazing. Maybe some airports switched over because CNN had a 2 month marathon devoted to the missing Mayalsian Air jet.

FWIW, I never see MSNBC on in public places. One of my last cable providers didn't even carry it except for an extra fee. They are circling the drain.

Is that androgynous thing still on television? She's completely irrelevant from what I've gathered. It's okay to shill as long as you periodically exercise some levity and principle on occasion (eg, oreilly, limbaugh, that one guy from cnn).
