The Walton Goggins/Rockwell scene is the best 5 minutes of television that I've seen in a while.

I didn't really get it, and I'm pretty sure that was the first thing that I have even seen Sam Rockwell in, other than 3 billboards and I have no idea who he is in that movie. A podcast I listen to said there was a huge cameo in this episode and when I saw it, I was like  :dunno: Also researching this dude I guess that he's Leslie Bibb's partner, her storyline in this season is my favorite.

Let me tell you about my favorite flick of all time, Jojo Rabbit.

Well, I won't tell you about it. I highly recommend it. And Sam Rockwell is incredible in it.

MiR that is crazy

Two Americas

yep!

So I did watch this scene again, it was posted on reddit, and I have new thoughts  :surprised: I should know better than to be on my phone, half distracted, while watching the white lotus

Their facial subtlety, and sometimes lack thereof when the camera goes back and forth between them, is incredible.  As crazy as Goggins is in 80% of his roles, seeing him bewildered at Rockwell's story was a treat.

I think discomfort is a forgotten emotion in a lot of movies and TV because it's, well, uncomfortable.  I thought it was executed pretty well there although also played for laughs.

It does a great job of ramping the absurdity of extremely wealthy tourists and their use of others.

Is this a scene I can just jump in and watch? I've seen it talked about in a few very different corners of my social circle (or social square/cube). And as a big Rockwell Head I'd love to see it, if I don't need a bunch of background.

i haven't seen any of season 3, and just decided to watch The Scene in question, i don't think it will spoil anything. but (as others have mentioned), as good as rockwell is in the scene, the goggins reactions are like, just incredible. just try to do what he's doing in a mirror. you can't.

I randomly watched the scene in a hotel last night and was pretty impressed and then noticed how much the Internet was talking about it

I'm a few episodes deep into The Last of Us.  Really interesting season within a season thing they did with Nick Offermans character.

I have no idea how they are going to adapt the 2nd game.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

Yes. Here you go. It's not a spoiler for anything that happens before this, but I'm certain it will tie later

Aaahhhhhh thank you. We just cancelled MAX the day before I was asking about this.

Sam Rockwell is so good. And holy crap, I'm not sure I've ever seen Goggins flex his acting chops. Fantastic.

Rockwell was solid in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and plays Charlie Ford.  Great movie!

It didn't go where I thought it would after episode one. It's good story telling I just thought it would be more of a whodunnit.

i heard there were some impressively long tracking shots, which tend to really "do it" for me.

It's a good time to be a TV junky. White Lotus, Severance and Yellowjackets!

Severance S2 didn't hit quite the same as S1 but I still enjoyed it a lot and was pretty satisfied with the season finale. I don't even blame the writers. They had to take it a different direction and I think they did a good job. This season of Yellowjackets is better than the last but teen Shauna has to be one of the most dislikable characters I've had to deal with in a show. I stand by what I said earlier about White Lotus.

I finished JoJo last night. Loved it.

Also, thanks for the text message.

Yes, just watched yesterday and it's an incredible achievement. The kid, the therapist (?), the mom, tommy from snatch, all amazing performances too. Very heavy show, and it captures this moment and the fears of parents (or prospective parents) really well. Also captures the chaos and hopelessness (from an administrator pov) of high school very accurately. I love that the main detective didn't even follow through to file the charges that he'd been working on the whole time, just to spend time with his son instead. It's an emotionally draining tv investment

I've heard this is good and that we should all watch. Would you watch with your kids or is it too much for tweens? My kid saw the preview and wants to watch but I haven't looked in to it enough.
