I hate subtitles. Damn it. I really wanted to watch Shogun, too. I don't have the attention span for it.

Hulu has an option for this show that is "English dub"

I think it is quite good.  I really enjoy Guy Ritchie when he is doing gangster stuff in UK.

seven is really the only person I trust with this request, but I will ask everyone just as a kind gesture; let me know if Fargo season 5 is worth a watch, I've been staring at it on Hulu and also know that if I watch 10 minutes then I'm committed to the entire season.

Sooo?

I was insanely (in a good way) surprised by the end of the pilot. 14:30 minutes into the second episode, I'm even more insanely (in a good way) surprised. Fargo, the movie and every season of the show so far, is incredible at being unpredictable.

Fargo season 5 sort of lost steam the last two episodes, but overall 5/7. Last scene was very enjoyable.

murder / history / science fiction / fantasy / maybe time travel? there's a lot left to unpack.

I read 3 body first 2 books, netflix series was good IMO but it combines story lines between the books.

The book narrative jumps timelines so maybe that's why.

There is a series on Prime that is very true to the books and very well done but it's in chinese/subtitles

not sure how close it is to the book but it's generally about an alien invasion, although there are a lot of layers as tater alluded to. The book series is pretty mind-blowing.

I enjoyed it. Some of it is really interesting and impressive but some of it feels pretty cheesy. I enjoy Sci-fi and had this series on my radar. It has gotten a better reception from the public than I was expecting. I’m bad at predicting how the public will respond, though. I didn’t think they would like the Last of Us nearly as much as they did.

Another show that I just finished is Constellation with Noomi Rapace. It’s also Sci-fi and it’s on Apple TV. I liked it more than 3 Body Problem.

Is it written in English that does not seem like a hackish Chinese translation? For example, I read one of the Witcher books and those were translated from Polish and the nuances of dialogue were weird and unsettling to me.

It's a slightly different style but it didn't seem hackish. No way for me to know whether it's the translation or actual style book.
