Thanks for the kind words guys. We do have a 4 year old pup that we got about 3 years ago. So she's helping.

Even before this my wife was constantly on the animal shelter page finding dogs that need adopted and if we had the space/time/money we would have all of them. She also volunteers at the animal shelter a couple times a month so I'm guessing it won't be too long before she falls in love and brings one home.

She's pretty heartbroken right now though so it might be a little while.

At 8 & 10, our tator-sized dogs got brave and decided to go outside and bark at the fireworks. All the years before they would hide under the bed during the celebration. LOL

Random question. Has anyone ever had a dog who just absolutely did not like another dog?

At my lady friends parents for the 4th and Milo does not get along with the lady friends sister's derp derp 3 year old golden retriever. No fighting but a lot of growling/snarling from Milo and the derp derp dog doesn't get the hint and just follows Milo around.

I keep Milo outside most of the day and the derp derp stays inside since most of the incidents seem to occur inside. We were at the pond/lake yesterday and they kept their distance and were fine.

The weirdest part is the lady friends other sister has a 1 year old giant lab/retriever male that still has his balls and he is getting a long fine with Milo.

Should I just lock them in a room until they have at it and figure it out?

(Lady is still alive but hanging out at my parents house since she does not like fireworks)

Neither of my last two dogs liked other dogs. My current is a bit better, but would rather they just stayed the hell away from her. My last buddy was very anti other dog. He was a full lab, pic below, and he hated other dogs. Never growled or did anything, just wanted them the hell away from him at all times. We would go to the dog park and he was a master at fetch and that is all he wanted to do. You could literally see the look on his face when another dog interrupted his game. Some dog owners just didn't understand this and they would keep letting their dog eff with mine. He ended up snapping a couple of times and that stopped it immediately. Only time I saw him pissed in like 13 years. He was a good boy.
