As an elite poster on gE.com, you already are aware that it is the most realistic submarine movies ever made. Such hijinks!

Modern submarine crap is too boring. Have to exaggerate the funny stuff.

Awesome/scary program. Thanks for letting me know and using a totally badass albeit only loosely topical thread to tell me about it.

wow, that happened in 2005. USS San Francisco. pretty amazing that the boat was able to surface with the forward ballast tanks ruptured.  :sdeek:

When they fix this thing up they should totally put in a window or two facing forward so they can see next time.

I had a good friend who was on the San Fran when that happened. No one ever asked him about it but when he'd have a few too many he would sometimes mention stuff. Crazy, crazy stuff.

If you look toward the right-most part of the damage you can see the jacked up torpedo tube(s). They're behind those long rectangular sheets of metal just below the black paint line.

I almost joined the navy

They wanted me to be a subfarer when I wanted to be a corpsman. They said that because of dui that I couldn't be the medical corpsman that I wanted. But after a year as a subfarer, I could see about doing what I wanted. They didn't tell me this until the very end of meps. Broke my heart. So I didn't join.

Also, that shark submarine show was fake. made me sad.

I guess it depends on the class of submarine, but according to my calculations they only cost $1.76 billion each.
