Went to a Turkish restaurant in Adam's Morgan last night. Pretty outstanding. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the district. Called Meze. Great cocktails, and be sure to try to the calf liver (<--freaking amazing ).

Need food processor recommendo.

Cuisinart makes the best.  We found one open package for $150 and didn't buy it right away and now I wish I would have.  Kitchen Aid makes a pretty good one too and is a little cheaper.  I have a mini cuisinart and need to buy a big one.

My wife has one at home. She uses it to make kafta and (when lazy) tabouli. She seems pretty happy with it. I'll check what kind it is when I get home.

Cuisinart.  The size/model I recommendo depends on what you want to use it for.

this is the one i bought

http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=12360010&RN=435

it's good sized and great for cookies, cheese, other crap.  if you are going to use it for bread dough in then i'd recommend going with the model with the 1000w motor.

Cuisinart.  The size/model I recommendo depends on what you want to use it for.

chopping, slicing, mincing ingreds.   :dunno:

Usually only cooking for two people so don't really something for high volume.

I have one I use for this.  It is the small one. The container is probably no more than 3 cups.  Don't remember the brand, but it is the only small/cheap one they sell at BB&B.  It is pretty hardy too.  I used it to make a lot of faux materials for an open house project about 8 yrs ago which required me to chop up large amts of wet newspaper.  It still runs great.

Something like this is when you buy the $15 dollar one and be fully willing to throw it the F out if it stops.

All that said, get a good knife and work on your chopping skills.  With a little practice, you get very fast and have much more control over the size and texture of what you chop.  Plus, it is just another thing to clean when done.  Knife + cutting board > food processor.

oi, i forgot about that one.  i use it to smash up rotel before adding it to velvetta.

you don't seem to know what you're talking about fwiw.  no knife will cut as consistent as a food processor.  the blades of the processor measure the size of your cut and are the same every single slice.

Apparently, I just don't know how to correctly use a processor.  Every time I have ever used one for chopping of ingredients, it usually turns into close to liquefied sludge.

Also, I use a lot of cilantro, basil, etc when cooking.  I find that my processor pretty much just sticks the leaves to the wall of the container.  Have a hard time getting them to actually get cut up.

Maybe this is all my lack of processor knowledge.   :dunno:

You're not using a food processor (that machine you reference in yourr prior post is really just a chopper not a processor, like the pic SD posted- not a processor).

You put these blades at the top of the procesor and feed the vegs or fruits, or cheese, through them and it does a good job of cutting them down into uniform pieces.

i would recommend the one i posted for your needs.   they're fun as crap to use, just wait until the first time you grate cheese with it,  you'll be like, where has this been my whole life?

Use a food processor for this.

1 bunch cilantro
2 jalapenos whole
5 cloves garlic
pinch kosher salt
roughly 4tbsp light olive oil

Blend together in food processor, spread on burgers, sandwiches, chicken boobs, etc...

Lamb Burgers and other tasty treats (open quality burger discussion thread)
« Reply #298 on: April 13, 2010, 10:50:41 AM »
I really enjoy a good lamb burger.  People are always telling me, "I like burgers!"  and I'm always saying, "You know, you should try a burger made of lamb.  It is called a lamb burger and it is delicious."  Quality sides would include:  garlic/apple smashed potatoes OR fresh cut sweet potato fries, asparagus and and a fresh mozz + summer beefsteak tomato with ground seasaltnpepper.

I mean it is just pretty delic.  Add the bleu cheese?  ZOMG!

you know what's good that i just invented last night?  tomato slices with grated gran padano on top.  obviously still need to salt/pepper/chile/oil the tomato as desired.

goes great as a munching item alongside any meat burger.
