have you thought about some kind of onion? what about garlic? we did some green beans last year and they were pretty good. the good part about them was that they supplied green beans for months. i'd go out and pick once a week and use them in a meal and then wait a week and then there'd be new ones to pick.

Don't know if I have room for anything that grows underground.  We kind of just hug the edge of our house and pray the guy that mows my yard doesn't mow it all down.  Green beans are a possibility I guess.  Never thought about them.

wow. did you also grow gold buillons last year? as for the grean beans, they'd grow pretty good up against a house. you could probably have the maid pick them once a week and get your chef to steam them w/ some diced onions or something.

I don't really have an option with the yard guy because of our homeowners assoc.

did an aggieville crawl last night. rab for some black bean dip. (clams- rich was there and we gave each other a head nod). then to porters for two fifty cent tacos. then to bww for a couple of boneless wings.
time to end the head nod nonsense.

i'm smoking a full brisket tonight, will put it on around midnight @ 250 dome/235 grate or so and cook it around 16 hrs or until it gets to 195 internal temp.  for my smoke wood, tonight i'm using a little cherry and 4 chunk peices of hickory, along with the lump coal.  i will document the process in pictures, in a thread i'll start later.

the hardest part about it all is not getting too PAK'd before i get the smoker to a constant temp and get the meat on.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Second week of April is the time to roll out the garden at my house(KC area).  I would agree that Nubbs should prolly wait another week, or be prepared with an old ass bed sheet to cover it all up if a freeze comes.

I am planting all my stuff this weekend.

Also, a note on in ground stuff like potato and onions: I know a guy who uses 5-gal buckets for both and is very successful.  He keeps doing it, so he must be on to something.

I am going to set up a few heirloom tomatoes, some G Beans, a bell pep plant, basil, and maybe some sugar snap peas.  I am going to try putting them all in various pots this year, bunching them somewhat close together, and filling the voids between pots with cheap ass mulch.  Heard good things.  Less work than getting into the actual ground.

Love this time of year.

You should plant some poblanos and cayennes.  Don't water them too much.

Not a poblano fan but could be because I don't know what to do with them.  Also, what do you do with cayenne?

Poblanos are good for rajas which can be put on anything (great on burgers, salads, in soups....)  Also great for stuffing.  Dried they become Anchos which make great sauces for enchiladas and tamales etc.

Cayennes are good for everything, dry them to make homemade hot sauce, or use them green instead of jalapenos.  Use them red (but fresh) as well.  Very good for asian dishes (thai, viet, chinese, indian).

Bonefish @ 135th and NALL.

Bang bang shrimp!!

North Italian Cuisine @ 119th and Roe

Don't have a favorite dish but it's a cool place and 'spensive for JoCo.
