From what I'm hearing, Auburn literally wants no part of us. Wouldn't be surprised to see them buy their way out of this one.

My uncle is a huge Auburn fan (although he went to Troy State...whatever) and when we were talking about our game next year his tone definitely changed.  He said that their defense is really bad this season and that while Marshall is pretty good, he hasn't faced a pass rusher like Mueller all season.  He was upset because he thought next year was a prime NC chance for the Tigers and that the OOC game against EMAW could send them off course before they even get started.

Auburn is notoriously bad in opening, legit (NDSU?  Really guys?) non conference games.  However, we will have two games under our belts and a bye before we head up to face you guys. 

I worry about this game for Auburn but I'm a little curious about the crap talking in this thread, from an unranked team vs the #6 team in the country.  Auburn is super legit on the ground this season and is better in 3 of the 4 big statistical categories (rush yards, points for, points against).  We've got many more quality wins vs top 25 teams and have a stronger strength of schedule, 16th vs 27th (http://www.teamrankings.com/college-football/ranking/strength-of-schedule-by-team).  There is legit discussion that if we didn't face LSU in a monsoon for the 1st quarter, we could very well be undefeated right now. 

Marshall may not be a perfect passer, but he's more than capable.  His stats don't look that bad when compared to your qb. 

Mahlzan is a gd genius for the way he's turned around Chizik's mess and will have another spring with the players, which should concern KSU more than anything imo.  Johnson may even beat out Marshall in the spring, and there's no question about his passing skills.

i've got a buddy who coaches on the auburn staff, according to him, they've already begun game planning for the game versus the ksu cats_wild.

that doesn't surprise me.  the sec is the most overrated conference according to the stat books, and my buddy also said that he would be surprised if they don't like by 30 <-- that's another stat that don't lie.

I'm honestly just really concerned that after we beat them they lose 4 or 5 other games and fall out of the top 25. I'm really scared that what looks like a quality win at the beginning of the season will end up actually hurting our SOS and all of the pundits will be using our weak non-conference schedule as a reason to keep us out of the playoff.

Auburn won't be able to play with the cats.  If they played our schedule, they would have at least 4 losses.  And lol @ "We would be undefeated if not for the weather" when Auburn just had the luckiest play of the season help them beat UGA.  If anything your team should have more losses.

Also, we don't play in the pud SEC.

Careful tho, could end up looking bad if we get bought out. With our new shiny stadium and facilities it might look like we are taking money we don't need from a Southern Poor. But maybe Snyder could send them a note or something to calm the waters...

I dunno, but something to think about. Don't want to damage the image of our program.

I hope it's not like when we played Miami a couple of years ago except of course Miami is a better program from a stronger conference.  Still I'm guessing the score will be similar to when Miami played in MHK.  I always felt like we beat up on Miami so bad in that game they were never the same afterwards.  Maybe we should be careful to ease up on Auburn a little bit so we don't damage them for the rest of the season.
