the older you get the harder it is to learn, i didn't go until i was 19 and went with a group of college buddies that already had been several times. It was pretty humbling seeing 5 year old kids flying down the mountain. My balance isn't that great though, so if you have skateboarded, inlined, ice skated before it might translate.
i've never been skiiing. i would like to try it tho, looks fun.
On 16 March 2009, Richardson sustained a head injury when she fell while taking a beginner skiing lesson at the Mont Tremblant Resort in Quebec, Canada about 80 miles (130 km) from Montreal. The injury was followed by a lucid interval, when Richardson seemed to be fine and was able to talk and act normally. Paramedics and an ambulance which initially responded to the accident were told they were not needed and left. Refusing medical attention twice, she returned to her hotel room and about three hours later was taken to a local hospital in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts after complaining of a headache. She was transferred from there by ambulance to Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur, Montreal, in critical condition and was admitted about seven hours after the fall. The following day she was flown to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where she died on 18 March at the age of 45. An autopsy conducted by the New York City Medical Examiners Office on 19 March revealed the cause of death was an "epidural hematoma due to blunt impact to the head", and her death was ruled an accident.
Bono died on January 5, 1998, of injuries sustained when he hit a tree while skiing on the Nevada side of Heavenly Ski Resort near South Lake Tahoe, California. His death came just a little less than a week after Michael Kennedy, a son of Robert F. Kennedy, died in a similar skiing accident in Aspen, Colorado. After Bono's death, Mary Bono told an interviewer from TV Guide that Sonny had been addicted to prescription drugs, mainly Vicodin and Valium. Though Mary claimed that Sonny's drug use caused the accident, the autopsy performed by the Douglas County Coroner showed no indication of any substances or alcohol. Sonny's mother and several friends disputed Mary's account.
Doak Walker died September 27, 1998 as a result of injuries suffered previously in a skiing accident.
Alfonso died in a skiing accident in Beaver Creek Resort, Eagle County, Colorado on 30 January 1989.
Is this pussification?
. Its also dirt cheap...like you can go on a ski trip for less than $500 not including food and booze...which is obviously an important part.
there is also the possibility of destroying your knees even if you wear a helmet

I don't really mind the drive and appreciate having our own vehicle out in the mountains.
