The 6-15 thing is the dumbest crap I ever heard. And cancelled out by some amazing long passes that few can make.

Hey _FAN remember when I talked about people and the dumbing down of expectations, here's a glaring example. In this dudes mind missing your target 9 out of 15 times is mitigated because the one time Waters threw the ball down the field he was 4 yards long on a fade and that equates to "some amazing long passes that few can make."

It has now become too much to ask that Waters hits an open receiver on a fade route. What's sad about this is that overthrowing that pass isn't a huge deal but FSD and stunted trying too hard forces me to shine a light on the one deep pass attempted.

I don't know why it matters who has been in the program longer.  I think the more important point is who has more time left in the program

agreed, jesse ertz is our main man

Not saying time in/time left is the only thing.  Just that time in is irrelevant and time left is a valid tie breaker.  If Ertz is as good as these guys, PLAY HIM SNYDER :shakesfist:

You don't play Ertz this year because he would lose 8 games of eligibility. Come on, guys.

He threw a nice pass down the field to Lockett on the sideline, iirc. He put it up high where only lockett could grab it. It wasn't as nice as Sams' throw to Thompson in the endzone, but it was still a pretty nice ball.

Yep, you're right he did complete a 26 yard pass to Lockett on the sideline, it was a very nice pass. Waters still had a bad day throwing the ball.

I don't think there is anything wrong with thinking that playing both of them this year is our best chance to win, AND thinking that our best chance to win next year will be one of the QBs stepping up and taking the job. The two thoughts are not mutually exclusive.

Yes, they are, because our best chance to win next year is having one QB get maximum reps this season.

And playing Waters over Sams this year never increases our chances to win now anyway. So any way you slice it, going all in on #LIFE is the only logical way to go.

Both of these players have huge holes in their game performance 2/3 of the way through the season. One QB's weakness tends to be the other QB's strength. Another 4 weeks probably isn't going to resolve that. An entire offseason, hopefully with a month of bowl practices, makes it a possibility. Both QBs have had the opportunity to show that they've grown in particular areas this year, and for the most part they haven't been able to do that. Playing every snap the rest of the season isn't going to fix either of our QB's turnover problem, neither will it fix Sam's decision making and trouble with the long ball, nor will it fix Jake's inability to hit his receivers in stride on short routes or make him a better runner/scrambler/sack avoider.

Which would serve Sams' development better: 100% of the snaps for the remainder of this season (including the bowl), or 30-60%?

This is really quite simple. The outcome this season will be the same regardless of what we do with the QBs. The outcome the next two seasons could be quite significantly different if we eff this thing up (by continuing to play Waters) or pull our heads out (and put Sams on the Roberson progression path immediately).

At this point in the season neither guy has earned the job, I think we can all agree on that

we can definitely not all agree on that

we are not all agreeing on that at all. it's mean to speak for other people.

I think its just the aura surrounding k-state. the whole hard work beats talent, in fact they have that crap plastered everywhere..
but the truth is sams is the more talented quarterback and consistently gives us a better chance to win.

I kinda like this take.

My point is on the film that Snyder reviews, Sams makes many more mistakes than Waters does. Waters continually puts the offense in better resulting plays than Sams does.

Stopped reading.

Better resulting plays is a rough ridin' dumb sounding sentence.
