Any list that has Waters below Freeman is not a good list.

if waters played on the teams that freeman did we probably wouldn't have a conference win.

I have a hard time putting a guy who didn't have a win over KU, MU, and Nebraska ahead of Waters. Especially with his TD-Interception ratio. :dunno:

If you put took 100 football coaches at any level and said you have to replace your current QB with either Jake Waters or Josh Freeman all 100 would take Josh Freeman. That includes LHC Bill Snyder.

Are we judging this on numbers or who we think is better?

my list was how I'd rank them. It's a subjective ranking based on my personal feel. how you or anyone else ranks them is up to you.

but if you're going off of stats (and you seem to be given your parading of Waters 400 yard passing game) you should know that Josh Freeman is both the single season and career leader in passing yards at KSU despite going pro early.

If I judged it on pure talent/potential, Freeman would be #1.  But I am a human with emotions and memories not a robot.

I would still have Bishop and Ell above Freems as a cfb qb

There is no reasonable defense of Ell over Freems based upon talent/potential.  Ell was incredibly flawed, which is why I loved him so much.

no reasonable defense?  Ell had flaws?

If you are giving Freems credit for putting up numbers on mediocre to bad teams I would give more credit to Ell for making a mediocre to bad team conference champions with the way the cats looked without him v Marshall and how the team crated in 04 with Sproles and 11 other returning starters.

Hell, Freeman may have had as much NFL talent at the skill positions as Ell played with when you consider Jordy is an NFL stud, Mastrud had a decent career and guys like Figurs, Clayton and Johnson actually got snaps in nfl games.

also Freeman himself had a reasonably long NFL career. so he's got that built in advantage too.

When I think talent/potential I am thinking 6'6" golden armed Adonis NFL prospect QB vs. 6'1" accuracy challenged run-first QB.  What does talent/potential mean to you?

I ranked them the way I did because of the stuff you are talking about.
