Jake would rather take a sack than throw an incomplete pass....................THINK ABOUT IT

god, so infuriating

God, I feel the same way.  Spent too much energy yelliing for him to get rid of the rough ridin' ball.  Does have amazing completion percentage, thanks to tlbl.
I think the "Waters is only good cause of TLBL" talking point is my favorite.

I don't even know why I'm asking you this but you don't think Jake was helped immensely by having Tyler as his number 1 option? I can't imagine what Matt Miller and Brian Cavanaugh would have looked like without Kevin and Tyler is absolutely better than his dad was.

or Klein without Baby Lock and Harp

I mean, yeah, he helped, I mean they helped each other a lot! Locketts numbers sky rocketed once Waters was qb.

Yeah his numbers got better when he became an upperclassman and didn't have an all conference running back and a qb running 15-20 times a game. Tyler has to have a guy get him the ball but there is no doubt who benefited whom greater. Tyler was a star when Collin was shot putting balls to his receivers.

So Sams will most likely forever hold the highest completion percentage.  Just let that soak in for a moment...

Jake Waters pass yards state should have an asterisk. (Offensive line incapable of run blocking and running backs not very good)
Luke's stock is rising as Winters continues to validate his greatness. Add Luke and Winters to my list! Also, EMAWBLAST! and Tobias!

So _fan says we had a top 15 offense and a top 60 defense, and people say "Waters couldn't win big games."

I wonder if Waters would've been able to win big games with literally any one of Bishop's/Beasley's/Roberson's/Klein's defenses.  For what it's worth, you could say the same thing about Freemaw.

I have to admit that I love seeing Joe Hubener come in late in games so we can run the football and throw ill-advised bombs.

It's the sack stats that I am struggling with. Someone posted a couple of weeks ago that Jake/ KSU had been sacked the fewest times in the conference. That doesn't jive with a shitty O-line. It also doesn't jive with the image I have of Jake getting sacked all of the damn time. I think the frustrating part, and one of the things that makes him not like able, is that his sacks happened in plays where he had a crap load of time to throw. He never threw the ball away even though he had ample time to do so. I never expected him to make a spectacular play at that point, it isn't in his DNA.

1st, just raw sacks allowed is a dumb stat, especially when comparing K-State to anyone else in the Big 12.
2nd, at no point were we ever at fewest sacks in the Big 12.
3rd, the best stat IMO is to look at sacks/attempts or sack%. K-State's sack% was 6.3%, good for 7th in the league.

Team   sack%
Oklahoma   2.3%
Texas Tech   2.3%
TCU   4.1%
Baylor   4.1%
West Virginia   5.7%
Iowa State   5.9%
Kansas State   6.3%
Texas   6.4%
Kansas   7.7%
Oklahoma State   9.9%

190 passing yards in the Alamo Bowl and Waters passes Freeman to take passing record.
