They already tried the whole "hire a recognizable coach with a track record of losing thing."
except pelini doesn't have a track record of losing.

whoever they hire, he'll have to be one lying and cheating son of a bitch.  there's really no way to win while playing by the rules in lawrentucky, kansas.

^actual quote from bill self
I didn't realize he speaks so openly about it.  :surprised:

What's funny is that the analogy is flawed anyway.  The "pond" would be the conference you are playing in, and the particular school would be what size fish you are.  But he's referring to K-State as if it's the whole pond, lol.

I bet a crap ton of my Nebraska football, KU basketball loving friends would love the crap out of a KU-Pelini hire. Would be entertaining AF to watch that anyways.

Pelini would win games there, do not want.

I was a strong advocate for Illinois hiring Pellini.  He's a POS but I think he's capable of winning 6-7 games just at any P5 program.

My thoughts exactly, in the weakling group, and worse that POS Northwestern, Pitt, and Wazzu in the power scale.

If Bill would just retire and we could do a proper coach hire, we could jump that Y axis like a boss in only a couple yrs.
