If we are really going to renovate the stadium why not go smaller?  I have always thought that KU should cut off or cover all of the seats above the top of the bowl while sinking the field and adding seats closer to the action.  Make the stadium smaller and bring the fans closer.  It will look better on TV and eliminate the empty space at the top of the stadium.

now what do they want to do ? .......

i actually get both sides to that argument, too bad it wont matter when we are 6-6
Yeah, but.... This is all that matters! http://www.statisticbrain.com/college-bowl-game-payouts/
Bowl payouts are split up among the conference, aren't they?  Thats money KU desperately needs to feed the needy/fix leaky stadium bathrooms.

I agree with you on this.  KSU fans go on about this "decade of dominance" and claim to be a football powerhouse.  If they're so amazing, why are the backing into a bowl game and printing off "5-7: A Season to Remember" t-shirts?

K-State will lose money on the crappy bowl, but will try to make up the deficit by printing off as many commemorative t-shirts and dvds to celebrate this momentous occasion in sports.

They'd rather us sit at home than for their school to get an extra 200K from our bowl profits.  :frown: This is why their stadium sucks so bad. That type of mentality.

What is this 5-7 stuff? My pocket schedule says we've only played 11 games. Did we already play WVU? Did we lose the spring game?

It's hard to TSC in light of this futility.

KU Big 12 Conference Record:

1996 2-6 Mason
1997 3-5 Allen
1998 1-7 Allen
1999 3-5 Allen
2000 2-6 Allen
2001 1-7 Allen/Hayes
2002 0-8 Mangino
2003 3-5 Mangino
2004 2-6 Mangino
2005 3-5 Mangino
2006 3-5 Mangino
2007 7-1 Mangino
2008 4-4 Mangino
2009 1-7 Mangino
2010 1-8 Gill
2011 0-9 Gill
2012 0-9 Weis
2013 1-8 Weis
2014 1-8 Weis/Bowen
2015 0-9 Beaty

4-58 in conference the last 7 seasons.

A staggering level of futility in today's college athletic financial environment.

But we can't feel sorry for them and we can't make fun of them "because everyone knew this was going to happen".

The only thing left is to wait for the next "plane was on the tarmac" story.

Sorry to nitpick but they were only 1-7 in 2010. They won their first game against Isu in 2009 and have been 3-57 since.  They have lost 31 in a row on the road plus they lost their last 3 vs Mizzou in KC

Take out their great 2007 year, they have won 4 road games the last 14 years. Kstate has won 4 road games in Lawrence in the last 6 yrs.

KU had brief success going 15-6 in a 23 month period from 06-08..... But they are only 23-121 the rest of the time in these past 20 years.

So according to Dax's post, in the Big 12's 20 seasons of existence, KU has had 10 seasons featuring either 0 or 1 conference win(s).

So if you go back to 2009, we've won as many games in that dump as KU has? My gawd.... :surprised:
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Wrong.  According to Dax's post, in the Big 12's 20 seasons of existence, KU has had 10 seasons featuring multiple conference wins.

And the Big 12 North was a real pillow fight most years, only the strong would survive. So it's something to be proud of.

You know how people will go buy a homeless guy something he needs, instead of just giving him money that he will spend on booze?  Can we do that with KU?  Instead of just giving them our portion of bowl money to spend on a basketball dorm or paying the rent on the East Topeka Track complex, we pay for something nice for the football stadium?  Working toilets would be a good start.

I work at a plumbing wholesaler, I could have the guys in the back set aside all the chipped and slightly damaged toilets that paying customers won't buy.  Could be like a toys for tots kind of thing.

I think we offered them one of our old broke dik scoreboards, they had nowhere to put it.

Do K-State fans really "go on and on" about the Decade of Dominance?

I mean, I realize it's something to complain about when the only slogans you have left are:  It can't get any worse.   We can't even say we suck less.   Things of that ilk.

It's kind of amazing that an athletic program that spends so much money, more then they make in fact, and gets millions of dollars in debt responsibilities forgiven every year now and receives millions from the school in direct support and student fees . . . can't even win a single football game.
