When they got out of their rip off of the students (without giving back any student seats they took) they had another $2 million plus in debt forgiven last year.

Nearly $2 million in direct institutional support and student fees as well.

"only" $42 million in bond debt, but currently on the hook for $56 million in long term operating leases.   How long until they figure out a way to snake out of that?

If you extend the chart back another decade you see what an outlier 2007 was.
In the past 25 years, KU has had 2 seasons with 9 or more wins.  We've had 13.

Helps when you play a KSU cupcake OOC (that they gave us hell about for years) and you dont' play OU or Texas in the rotation. That year, Oklahoma won the conference, and Texas was Top 15 and only lost 3 games all year.

KU did beat a decent V.Tech team in the Orange Bowl and their defense was good....then in '08, reality started creeping in before the '09 collapse.

They didn't have to play a pretty good TT team (9-4) either. They played the following teams and won:
Colorado       4   –   4                   6   –   7
Kansas State    3   –   5                       5   –   7
Nebraska       2   –   6                   5   –   7
Iowa State       2   –   6                   3   –   9
Oklahoma State    4   –   4                   7   –   6
Texas A&M       4   –   4                   7   –   6
Baylor       0   –   8                   3   –   9
Central Michigan  8   –   6
Toledo       5   –   7
FIU              1   –   11
#9 Virginia Tech 11   –   3
SE Louisiana is FCS

Lot of garbage. They best team they played in Mizzou they lost obviously and that Mizzou team got spanked by OU in the Big 12 Championship.

KSU fan really needs to keep quite,, they don't know how bad they will be after Snyder retires in the next year or two. Having seasons like KU had this year was a normal thing for them for so long before Snyder.

And Mizzou doesn't know how the next coach will do after Pinkle,, so they should reserve judgment as well. The only thing they got going for them is that they have a 6 million pop state to themselves as the only P5 school and have never been able to take advantage of it.

KSU has absolutely nothing to offer other than "Well Snyder won here and we built a fancy new press box in our high school stadium!"

looks like before too long we'll be able to wheel coolers of beer into the stadium and sit wherever we want (what old people tell me used to happen when Snyder wasn't our coach).  i'm looking forward to that.

They're getting super pissed over on the Phog, that we're such a powerhouse in football, that they're willing to put us in a bowl at 5-7.  :frown:

Meanwhile, Mizzou was offered a bowl and said 'no thanks'.  Poor Kansas.  It's like the canteen scene in Three Amigos.  Kansas is dying of thirst, and their compatriots are gargling and spitting.

They really cling to the talking point of the program collapsing after Snyder leaves, it's pretty silly.

I mean, even under terrible coach but huge stud Ron Prince, we still won 17 games in his 3 years, but it's taken them the last 7 seasons to get 17 wins. If K-State makes even a mediocre hire, this program will be just fine. (make a home run hire? Watch the eff out world.)

Yeah, I think our program is at a level where it is pretty easy to win 6-7 games every year.

Thinking K State can't win without Snyder is so dumb. Reasonable distance from TX, nice new facilities, P5 school. KU should actually be terrified of Snyder leaving because he arguably lowers the ceiling for the program with his staffs current style.

K-State winning ~7 game a year isn't remarkable.  KU losing every damn game this season is remarkable.
