With no Royals game last night I was bored and looked at couple of threads on the Phog.  Guys, I'm seriously worried that all of the losing is turning the football stadium evaluating parts of their brains into unusable mush because here's a couple of semi-precious gems:

Make it classy like AFH. That place is perfect.

Hmm, this statement is a real doozy because even though I don't know what it means I still know it's an incredibly stupid rough ridin' statement. Just from an architectural standpoint, how or why would you design/renovate a football stadium to resemble a smelly old dump of a basketball arena?


Then several of them bagged on U Dub's awesome Husky Stadium.  This seems odd because I figured they would feel a special kinship with Washington for playing in a stadium that has recently had the track removed.

I think it is possible that Memorial in Lincoln has been renovated but kept a classic look. It is one of the nicest stadiums around and still has a memorial feel.

Yes I also think it is possible that Memorial in Lincoln has been renovated.  Good catch, someone should look into that.  I somewhat disagree with it being the nicest stadium around unless his definition of "around" is a really small area.

While BSFS is a bit disjointed, there's still a fairly discernible flow and the majority of seats are sideline seats, either close or relatively close to field.   Corn stadium has more seats either in the endzone, or 15 stories above the field, then it has seats on the sidelines, relatively close to the field.   It's also a 95,000 seat stadium that should be an 80,000 seat stadium.

people always rave about memorial and ill never understand why, i hated watching games in that place. it was always waaaay overcrowded.

You certainly don't rub elbows with the same types of KU fans that I do.  Most KU fans I know will be laughing hysterically when you aggies suffer the indignity of falling to a non-P4, mid-major, low IQ conference while KU steps up to the Big Ten or Pac 12.  And rest assured, it will happen.  The clock is ticking-- the only question is how much time you guys have left in a big boy conference.  Oh, and I happen to have two degrees from  KU, not that I feel the need to justify myself to you agricultural types.

Can someone tell me what a "memorial feel" is. I've had the displeasure of being in that stadium a few times and outside of the literal name, there doesn't seem to be any feel to it at all.

You ever been to AFH?? It's kind of a dump.. exposed piping every where, dilapidated seating, etc. I mean I guess memorial stadium is already modeled after it pretty well right now. Pretty PUD.

Remember when I was talking about teams that were “HAHAHAHA”-level bad? I was alluding to Kansas. The program is among the worst in college football of the past four years. Baylor won more games last year than the Jayhawks have since 2010. Also, Charlie Weis was the coach up until they canned his ass last September.

The Jayhawk defense was one of the most pathetic units in college football last season, as it allowed 33.2 points and 453.2 yards per game, which is 129 more yards than the offense averaged. In non-conference play, they went to Duke where a true freshman ran up on them for 245 yards and three touchdowns. As I mentioned earlier, Perine also took a lap around the track on them.

The only thing you have to know about Kansas is that whenever Baylor or TCU plays them, they will give up least 50 points and records will be threatened. The only time you should ever watch the Jayhawks this year is when they play Oklahoma, and that’s just so you can see if Perine can break his previous mark.

As a Jayhawk, I have to take the long view to avoid being one of those annoying “when does Basektball start?” people. At some point things will start to turn around, maybe this will be the year. One year has to be the year...

With the level of your academics, football, hoops and lack of national appeal you have ZERO chance to make 4x16. Look at what the PAC, BIG, ACC and SEC want. We have it...you don't. Pray to God the Big XII makes it (no chance OU and UT sign a 2nd GoR) because you are less than 10 years away from enjoying a conference with ISU, Boise State, Memphis, UCF, Baylor and the rest of leftovers.

4x16 fits us and not you. So take your cheap shots at KU now. Brag up your football team. End of the day...IT. DOES. NOT. MATTER.

If KU goes 0-12 or 1-11 I think it means they just aren't very good. They may be the best 0-12 or 1-11 team out there because there isn't much to work with. More likely Beaty is saying nothing because there is nothing to say.
Just not enough bodies, experience, and quality players to make difference this season.

I mean holy crap. "Best 1-11 or 0-12 out there". Like seriously, how many teams is that? 5? 10 at most? That's just a pants on head stupid cherry picking moral victory way to look at. "Yeah sure we were winless, but those other 4 winless teams out there? Yeah, we're better than them, really don't even know why we're talking about it, it's not a debate really. Those other loser winless schools don't even have our academics, or our endowment, or facilities for crying out loud. I also hear that the Big 10 likes the best anyways and we're the best of the worst, so, let's burn this rough rider down and head to the Big 10 and be super happy and fix all our problems"

From what I could find, not a single FBS team went 0-12 last year and 3 won 1 game (two went 1-11, Idaho went 1-10). So yes, they'd be the best 0-12 team out there, best 1 win team? Very debatable.
