I'm hoping that Bernie retires soon and that somehow we get an energetic, visionary chancellor who will help KU to realize its potential. First two items on that new chancellor's agenda from an athletics standpoint should be hiring a new AD with energy and vision and positioning KU for eventual entrance into the Big Ten by beating the bushes in Big Ten circles and having discussions with leaders at OU and maybe UT to develop an exit strategy from the Big 12.
Sad that this is a response to a marching band thread:Quote I'm hoping that Bernie retires soon and that somehow we get an energetic, visionary chancellor who will help KU to realize its potential. Well, the only way KSU makes it into a P4 conference when the Big 12 (as it is presently constituted) goes away is if cow chips and animal husbandry classes drive the bus. As satisfying as it will be to watch KU go to the Big Ten or Pac 12, it will be almost as much fun to watch the agony on the purple faces when it all goes down. It will make you purple clowns 2nd class citizens in college sports, and it will be permanent and irrevocable. And you will be even bigger 2nd class citizens academically than you are now.
Haha, yes I am a terrible human being for believing that KU is superior in every way to KSU (except in maybe football and animal husbandry curricula). And don't tell me that most of you purple bozos wouldn't feel the same way if KSU could somehow get into a better conference than KU and leave KU in the dust. What's going to make it even more fun when it all goes down is that so many of you people are under the delusion that it could never happen. It is going to happen-- the only unknown is how long it will take.
You aren't suggesting that your ag school has millions of fans, are you? Maybe three hundred thousand in the state of Kansas--that's about it. And you'll keep most of those when you fall to a non-P4 conference, so keep your chin up.

Lawrence starbucks in the grocery store at 19th and Mass this morning:"I don't care what happens as long as we beat Texas"They have such a weird thought process when it comes to all the sports they don't understand.
