Did ku really think they would be better than 2-2 right now?  If not, why not pull the plug last year?  Save money by only paying one coach December-October?  If so, just wow.  Things must be really tight over there.

they have money.  they paid Charlie about 2.5m.  I'd imagine they could get a good coach for that or even 2.0M.  Dave Doeren's salary at NC State is around 1.9M. there is literally  no reason they can't get someone good.  weis was a big WTF hire.  they simply can't eff it up that badly again.

ku is a good opportunity because it isn't like Bill has made us into some monster.  we're vulnerable, especially considering bill's age and the fact he's retired once already and has said he's going to retire at some point.  the state has available juco players to infuse immediate talent and close enough to TX and OK to find some guys.  also, you'll get paid.

If they want someone proven it's going to take a hell of a lot more than 2.5. Didn't Tech re sign Kliff for 3? Doren isn't leaving NCSU because it's a far better job than KU. They are absolutely at the place now that K-State was in '89. The program has way too many issues for a coach at even a decent big 5 conference school to take that chance. That is the worst job in D1.

If Leavitt is looking to leave SF, which should be because Harbaugh is leaving, he would be a good target. Wolford would also be good, Tressel still has a show cause, I'd assume that extends to any role directly with athletics.

I didn't mean doeren would leave, just that ku could hire someone with his resume now for 2-2.5m. Kliff got hired at 2.1m.
Not sure I agree with the ksu '89  but might be semantics.

Yeah the 89' comparo is that the KU job is clearly the worst job in major college football as KSU was in '89. That job is so bad that Mangino would be praised by nearly everyone, I mean look at his damn resume.

The key to Ruffin is his coordinators and being in a state that has the 11th most kids from there playing D1 football.

Who are the minority candidates?   They will at least have to consider that direction after their miserable treatment of Gill.

Would Dimel take the job?

if he thinks he has a shot at ksu head coach within the next few years, he obviously stays. if knows he has no shot, then why not?

Would be great for Dimel, I can't see him getting anything better. Isn't he the only Snyder assistant to go directly from Snyder's staff to a FBS job?

Their past two home run hires have been duds.  Maybe choke up and just slap a single to right this time.

If he wants a head job, now is the time.  We'd be stuck with rough ridin' Del. Maybe we get another andre coleman out of it though.

KU will likely go with some young, unproven coach and bank on his upside.  They aren't going to beat out a bunch of other schools going for some known quantity.

If I were them I would say eff it and bring in a triple option coach.  Accept that you won't be Big 12 champs but you will be a pain in the ass team that gets to bowls and isn't completely embarrassing.

Ken Niumatololo out of Navy seems like somebody who could (maybe) mold them into this kind of team. He's used to having to recruit nationally, including out of Texas. Hiring him would limit their overall upside, but he'd likely to be good enough to at least lift them out of the dumpster.

Willie Fritz out of Georgia Southern also runs a kind of triple option but isn't as limited as Navy's system is. He's done a fantastic job at Sam Houston State and now Georgia Southern and would likely turn them into a pain in the ass team to play within a couple of years, but his FBS resume is pretty thin.

Rumors have Coach Old Balls retiring after this season, and you really don't want to be hunting for a coach at the same time as little brother. Especially when the level of the program is easier to walk in and win now over in the land of putrid purple.

KU is a better job so it doesn't matter.

Who wants to follow in behind Snyder at a program that is historically worse then KU, in a worse location that pays less money? KU should be better than ksu in football most years,, minus them striking lightening in a bottle a second time with Synder part 11,, which I don't see happening a second time.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

When does KU expect their hire to come in and take over? Now? If they really want a guy to come in and take over now then Orgeron would be a good get for them.

No shot at Ken Niumatalolo. Willie Fritz is good, would they take Larry Coker?

If you're trying to peddle this pathetic storyline that hiring Captain Frontbutt wasn't your fault and that the big money guys wanted a big name so you gave it to them, save your breath.  You had the final decision on hiring, and this disaster is solely on  your purple a$$!!!!   You're not going to find Lawrence a very pleasant place to be in coming months, so please do yourself and everyone else a favor and follow that buffoon of a coach you hired out of town ASAP.
