Oh, but seriously, I would love nothing more than them hiring Sean (I know it will never happen) and him having success. It would be delightful to take him away from them in that scenario.
I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

Mike Leach is struggling now.  Saw a tweet saying he is 11-20 since taking over up there.  Bring him in closer to TX recruiting and he will get receivers and QBs and put on a show.  May not ever be better than 8 wins, but come on....

KU will likely go with some young, unproven coach and bank on his upside.  They aren't going to beat out a bunch of other schools going for some known quantity.

If I were them I would say eff it and bring in a triple option coach.  Accept that you won't be Big 12 champs but you will be a pain in the ass team that gets to bowls and isn't completely embarrassing.

Ken Niumatololo out of Navy seems like somebody who could (maybe) mold them into this kind of team. He's used to having to recruit nationally, including out of Texas. Hiring him would limit their overall upside, but he'd likely to be good enough to at least lift them out of the dumpster.

Willie Fritz out of Georgia Southern also runs a kind of triple option but isn't as limited as Navy's system is. He's done a fantastic job at Sam Houston State and now Georgia Southern and would likely turn them into a pain in the ass team to play within a couple of years, but his FBS resume is pretty thin.

No shot at Ken Niumatalolo. Willie Fritz is good, would they take Larry Coker?

Monken who is now at Army was the one who really built the Georgia Southern juggernaut.  Current/former NDSU head coach?  Potentially decent guys on KU's level

It can't be anyone fat, if it is we need to look farther into this phenomenon

Well it is a known fact that the Jayhawks area bunch of chubby chasers, so I would be shocked if they don't take a close looks at Ralph Friedgen.  If they actually hired him, then message boarding would really be the tits.

Hey Tim, I'd like to hear who you think KU should hire

Lee Corso.

jokes aside I think they should see if harbaugh is interested. I doubt he is but just need to see. personally i would like them to hire Scott Frost(Oregon OC) Clemson's OC or Baylor's OC.

I'm hearing the men's basketball team strength and conditioning coach is the front runner.

Their in such a sad place they'd be lucky to get Dennis Francione

If you get Harbaugh or Scott Frost I'll give the $100 you owe to the Fatty Fund.

I feel like the whole KU/Harbaugh thing has been the best orchestrated, most thought out, and best executed troll any fanbase has ever done.  I mean, real long play type stuff.

The thought that he would leave Stanford initially, leave SF now, pass on an imminent Michigan job, or pass on what will most likely be a couple other NFL oppys to go to KU is just a beautiful troll job performed by basically every one of their internet fans.  Did they pass out coordinating roles and instructions with each purchase of a Jayhawk tee shirt for the last 3-4 yrs?

Well done.

They are going to offer guaranteed money to another end of the road coach looking for one last payday again.
It's almost painful to see the train wreck coming from miles away.

So the question is, how much money will it cost to hire a decent guy to KU?

I think this job may be quite a bit more unattractive than it was when Weis was hired.  Weis utterly screwed the roster balance up by slobbering over Juco's like he was Ron Prince minus the self-control.  Snyder had enough trouble managing huge holes when he came back to Manhattan to try and develop even a 2-deep, and I'm concerned that between the roster issues, apathetic fans, and their crappy stadium, that several coaches, including lower-level ones that realize their own upside will opt to be a bit more patient, and thus pass.

Either that, or they will demand a dumpster load of money that few outsiders will understand as a way to cover themselves if they get fired early because they can't right the ship fast enough.

AD Zenger is a football coach at heart, and has a long background at K State.  I would not be surprised if Brent Venables is pursued by KU.  A turnaround likely would start with defense.  Brent is probably too firiey and mean for KUers though.

I really dunno who they'll hire but it runs deeper than a coach. our chancellor etc. doesn't care about football and it shows.

I'm assuming Chuck ' s career is over, and because he is so brutally candid, I can't wait to hear what he has to say about the job.

ku fans say this because it makes them feel better but actual facts would show something different. She hired zenger who is a football first guy himself and then has let him crap can two bad coaches (one a minority) in a very, very short period of time. she apparently  wants to win more than anyone.

I would be shocked if they even looked at Frost. Hiring someone at a big 5 conference school who has been a coordinator for 16 or so months would be the surest sign of how awful that job is.

JCCC alumni are pretty delusional.  KSU grads don't put their careers on the line to take a pee in the Sprite tank at Taco John's to get even like poor ku fans

Quote
I posted this in another thread:

...has anyone on this board ever met any K-State fan that didn't hate KU with the heat of a thousand suns?  I know a lot of K-State fans/grads, and some of them I could consider to be decent friends.  And every single one of them hates KU more than they love K-State.  As a KU diehard, I don't like K-State, but don't go out of my way to profess my undying hatred of K-State the way all of the K-State fans that I know do to KU.  Most of the time I don't care enough about K-State to hate them, but every single K-State fan I know goes out of their way to hate KU.

And KU went and hired a K-State grad...to be THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR? Do you know a single K-State fan that you would trust enough to put aside their previous hatred and bias and do a good job leading the KU athletic program? And we're going to keep him on after seeing how unspeakably disastrous his first football coach hire has been?  Sheer lunacy.  That clown needs to go, right along with Weis.  Tonight yet
