i'm not in KCMO anymore but rolling recycle bins would have been pretty inconvenient as i didn't have a driveway or garage and there were two small flights of stairs to my front door. do they allow people to opt out and keep using the smaller bins?

probably but your trash person will hate the crap out of you for making him get out of the truck.

Late on this thread but ours came this week and you can opt out. They came and took mine back this week too. I'm using the old style, these things suck for any kind of urban housing styles.

Nope, it will prob just be one pissed off driver that has to get out of his truck at Phil's house.

There is going to be a crap ton of those. I bet 60% of housing from the riverfront to plaza that gets KCMO trash service is going to hate these suburban bins and no real way to store/move them to the curb every week.

Man, Chicago alleyways win again. Always leave the bins in the exact same spot. I don’t even know what days they pick up trash and recycling to be honest.

Ironically that looks like a perfectly reasonable house to accommodate rolling bins. Just put them between the house and the fence!

City code doesn't allow for garbage bins to be seen from the street. That's what people will/are doing though in this situation.
