4 miles away and expecting a surge? Okay.

So many food trucks and insulated event that lasted into the evening, I can't imagine a restaurant thinking it was going to be some sort of gangbusters weekend.

I went down there for a little while, I overheard multiple out-of-towners making dinner plans.

I like to explore different places when I travel, but most travelers prefer convenience, I doubt they were seeking out the kinds of places mentioned in that article.

Ask the people who fairy tail those numbers what their formula is, I always think those are silly #s. Of the people I know "in the biz" the winners this weekend were hotels, sports bars, BBQ, places open late that would serve food. Of course whatever trades built up that stage and PD overtime was probably outrageous as well.

LMAO why would a vintage clothing store think they'd see any sort of revenue increase from the draft?

If you had a restaurant/bar near streetcar or hotels you probably saw an increase, that's about it.

I'm guessing because they were told that 300,000 people would bring in $125 million of revenue?

Still find it ridiculous that stores that are typically not a destination where out-of-towners would spend money, are pissed at the government/mayor for this. Very small town thinking. People came here to do one thing, go to the draft, where they have food and booze available literally all day long. I'm sure $100 mil was spent, but it was spent at the draft and on hotels/lodging.

Did these biz owners expect the mayor to line out how the money was going to be spent? Knowing/anticipating your demo is a massive part of owning a business, having a down weekend sucks, but it's part of owning a business.

Rates were surprisingly the same as what they normally are. I think I paid $18 for a ride down to the crossroads at 4 and $22 for the ride back around 10.

I've owned a couple so have experience. I haven't looked on the market for a couple years though so not really up to date on what's a good deal out there. I'd avoid the cluster of buildings around 8th and locust. Heard nothing good about their HOA health. Whatever tier and Western auto recently in the news for misleading HOA management (the two you mentioned) but I think they are still healthier if you see a good deal and do your research.

Not a ton of options in KC for condos.
Happy to help with any specific questions. Tall building with elevators tend to get expensive fast with maintenance.

Been a hot minute but under contract in River Market with a condo viewing downtown. Very excited. Pretty decent HOA, building, price, amenities, and view. Should be an easy walk to anywhere in River Market. Will be great to be in when I'm back.

Sounds like an amazing place to be a young KSU cat on the prowl.

value should increase pretty nicely when they break ground on the stadium in your backyard

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.
