I’ve done all my meetings from bed this morning and still haven’t gotten out of bed. :frown:

I was wearing some old high school shorts at softball tonight and the catcher asked me if I went there.
Me: Yeah, graduated in 0X
Him: Gotcha, alot of our team graduated from there in 0X+3
Me: You probably know my brother Logan Ji then.
Him: Wait are you Ben Ji?
Me: (sticks chest out) Yup
Him: I was there when you dislocated your elbow at a wrestling match (makes wobbly elbow motion) and they wheeled you out of the gym on a stretcher,  probably the last time I saw you.

(Ben ji's chest deflates)

I just watched my first ever episode of The Office. It was Diversity Training, a couple of hilarious moments, not the funniest thing I've ever seen, but good enough for me to casually watch more episodes.

I’ve casually watched some of it. I agree that it is good enough.

Comedy central is banning this episode moving forward. Btw, this is kinda how I feel about scrubs when you guys bump that thread and I love the office!

Thank goodness they did the office when they did.. no chance they could've got 1/2 the stuff through anymore at least not on a major network

Yes this can be said about pretty much every era of comedy. In The Honeymooners Jackie Gleason threatened to beat up his wife like every episode. No way a network would greenlight that today!

Also it's still pretty crazy comedy central is doing that. It's supposed to be cringey! But I think most of what they did could exist today. It's pretty tame.

The “couldn’t be made today” is such a weird conversation to me. Those shows were made, and they’re still making a ton of money.

No, I do not think the Honeymooners could have been made with domestic violence jokes in 2005

And they do a good job of centering episodes around current events. They evolve as they go along.

Probably would've done better in the box office if it did though

This is exactly why I watched it. I saw the article in my newsfeed so I fired up the male genitals to check it out. The 30 seconds that got this episode banned was unbelievably funny.

FWIW, Chris Rock has said for years that he regretted doing that routine. If he's uncomfortable with it, I think it's perfectly reasonable for middle aged white executives to be leery about another middle aged white guy mimicking it. I thought it was funny a.f. but I get determining that 30 seconds is potentially more trouble than what it's worth.
