I never look at my credit card accounts and check my bank accounts like once a month, but just for fun (admiring my piles of ducats). Is it a problem that I dont pay attention to my card activity? Chase has always been really good at alerting me to suspicious activity. Also, ever-y bill is on autopay, so life's a breeze.

i use mint, which i think is what libderp was alluding to, you can periodically check the app and see activity in all your accounts, in less than a couple minutes.  would recommend.

Yeah, I didn't like mint so I switched to clarity. Everything is in one easy to glance at app, and you can track your spending by category week to week or month to month. I live well below my means, so I'm not afraid of running out of money or anything, but I do like to keep track of it and look at ways to improve saving.

I should really look into one of those apps which are probably better than my current method of exporting credit card and bank statements to an excel sheet and then using pivot tables and pivot charts and crap like that to analyze my spending habits.  :nerd:

You should consider exporting those spreadsheets into Microsoft BI and getting some really detailed pie charts on your spending.

Tracking spending is a waste of time for me cause I know it’s not gonna change my behavior. I still do check the ol bank account pretty frequently because I want to put extra money to WORK if I have it. Don’t want it just lazily sitting there.

I caught something that probably actually belongs in this thread. I registered my kid for something and somehow signed up for an $80/year active.com subscription in the process and have paid it for the three years. I had no idea I signed up for it at all

For most of my adult life, I thought the Backstreet Boys lyric was "Ain't nothin' but a par-tay" when it is really "Ain't nothin' but a heart-ache"

lmao.  You should share at least one of the things you previously thought it stood for for full shame effect.

Was invited to go to a protest, it's after sunset and I let my rationalizations tell me there's more risk with virus and potential bad things than benefit from my attendance.

That's outrageous. They out here burning a children alive in their homes*, and you can't even get off your butt to make a difference?

*no children were actually harmed.
