If what Greg is saying is true about Gene, that's pretty sad.
K-State baseball, despite being ass, regularly draws 6K people to the K-State campus on a conference series weekend. That's an opportunity to market and sell the K-State brand to a nice chunk of folks during a relatively slow time of the year for K-State athletics from a fan interest perspective.
I'm not the least bit surprised that K-State athletics is still up to its insular ways. For years they had all kinds of resources available to them from campus to help in various ways and I doubt KSA reached out or ever did much with it.
It's always been that way at K-State, and it's probably that way at other schools as well and it's always been super super weird to me.
