Okay. Wow. That makes a lot of sense. I didn't realize the scholarship situation was like that.

What's the most scholarships men's and women's track teams can offer?

The NCAA allows men's track/xc to only give the equivalent of 12.6 scholarships to be split among the entire team, women get 18. Some schools just evenly split among everyone, some give more to higher profile runners. Some even more are able to find more money outside of the scholarship limits.

That's pretty sweet. How do we host events there though? Does there not need to be seating for the competitors, coaches, and fans?

That was my exact thought too. Where does everybody sit?

Pull out bleachers similar to Arkansas seem to be feasible?  Arkansas hosts the NCAA  national indoors in 2026.

I've been to a bunch of meets at Arkansas and there isn't a ton of seating - maybe 2,000-3,000 (at the absolute most). Based on these photos, we may not have quite enough space for that volume, but if we can get north of 1k, I think it'll be suitable to host quality meets (if not necessarily the national meet).

First meet in the new indoor facility in the books...

Small meet, but some quality teams (Miami, Tech, Mizzou). Hopefully we can expand/grow and host larger meets moving forward.

Men's 4x400m posts a legit time (currently No. 6 in the country) in breaking the school record.

Awesome. 4 x 400m is the best race in outdoor track, I assume it is the same for indoor?

Solid time - 3rd best in the world so far in 2024 and just outside the all time collegiate top 20.

Both KSU teams score zero points... would have to go back a long time to see that happen in an NCAA meet.

Rovelto's been on the decline and we might be reaching the point where it's time to retire.

Yeah, we gotta keep advancing. He's obviously done a lot but we got to move forward

Not K-State related, but KU's T&F coach Stan Redwine will be a coach for the US olympic team in Paris this year. Pretty cool.
